I have heard a lot of people today saying they are unsatisfied with the Two party political system in American politics today.
There also some complaints about term limits for all politicians no matter what political arm they serve.

Some do not agree with these mavericks of political activist they say no, the right wing knows best or they say no the left wing knows best.

I have a question for these two party naysayers, and whiners.

The Right wing Republican party stands for the rich and big business that is fact
PROOF?, The Right Wing Republican party supports giving the rich tax cuts, giving the rich corporations tax cuts for outsourcing jobs the right wing Republicans support giving research money to private corporations who already have big profits.

The Left wing stands for the poor and the welfare.
PROOF? They have ask for more money to extend the unemployment packages, they have put more money into subsidized housing, they have put a danger signal on everything that is unhealthy, Regulations are ask for more and more for the EPA, leasing a factory, to hiring people , the lawyers are on stand by for everything from political correctness to smoking a cigarette in the wrong place to hot coffee being spilled because it didn't have a warning.

So you take the average American, not rich, not poor/working poor, but working hard, paying bills , paying taxes and paying his own way as he goes, not in debt up to his eyes.
Question What has the right to offer?
Maybe they can make another speech saying "READ MY LIPS NO NEW TAXES? or "STAY THE COURSE"??

Question What has the left to offer?
Maybe they can make a speech about "WE CAN CHANGE" or "YES WE CAN"

Maybe ,just maybe they can get together and blame each other for all the bad things that have happened to America, maybe they can compare notes,
The Right Wing Republicans can say "LOOK AT WHAT THE LEFT WING DEMOCRATS HAVE DONE"???
The Left Wing Democrats will say "LOOK AT WHAT THE RIGHT WING REPUBLICANS HAVE DONE"

Who stands for the average American???

I find this odd because there are a lot of average Americans that actually stand up for the Right Wing Republicans.
Just as though there are a lot of average Americans that actually stand up for Left Wing Democrats
There are even some average Americans that are "VERY LIBERAL" and "VERY CONSERVATIVE"
Yet neither Left or Right, neither Republican nor Democrat is supporting the Average American in Washington D.C. today

The average American must accept responsibility or else he would not be an average American.
If he was rich when he paid taxes he'd get a tax cut?
If he was poor/working poor when he paid taxes he would get a tax cut, or have an exemption

I purpose a party that supports all all lifestyles in America today.
The Rich, the middle class, the Average, the working poor, the elderly, and the poor.

We have all heard the stories of Class Warfare, the 90% vs the 10%, the division of America, the two America's.
If in fact the class at the bottom, the 90%, and the lower half ever get organized enough to go against the system.

That is when America will turn to the third party and no amount of money , power or bribes will stop this new third party from taking office.

The Independent is a start but the new third party will owe nobody or no organization and will be stronger with more allies.:peace

This sounds like plan. I think the reason there is no 3rd party is - money. It takes a great deal of money to start a 3rd party. How do you get it except selling out to those with money, then inturn they want something. The other 2 parties have a real solid machine going for them. And until you have a machine like theirs, they won't jump ship. There are not enough "in between" folks to carry an election. But I've often thought the same thing about a 3rd party.

Kennedy
Ike
Truman
FDR
Jackson
Lincoln
Just to name a few, all had money, all were well liked
A majority of Americans followed these men.
They didn't sell out.

Question; Would they have made the same decisions if in fact they belonged to a third party?
I THINK SO.

As far as the money situation goes, there may come a time when big corporations can not buy off politicians.

You may think this idea is far fetched, but it is not so farfetched as you might think.

America has the seperation of church and state why is that?
So no one church that is bigger than other religions can influence politics to fit their agenda.
If one corporation has more money than other corporations, would not the same apply?

My money comment was about the 3rd Party needs money to start up. Didn't say the idea was far fetched, said I'd thought about a 3rd political party myself. But it takes MONEY to build the infrastructure. The Repubs and the Demos have had years to get their respective parties established.

I understand your post.
However, perhaps I look at things differently.

True it takes money to start up a third party, true the Republicans and the Democrats have had years to gettheir respective parties established.

However America as a nation had years to get the respective of segregation established.
One voice a few actions a lot of people within 10 years it changed.

However America as a nation set respective of gender bias established.
The Women's lib movement changed that.

Now some may not agree with these changes but they ain't going anywhere.

When the people of a nation especially one as diverse and mixed as America is see that something is wrong, or when it starts effecting their lifestyle then they will stand and just like before there will be a change.

Everybody seems to think a bank is strong but actually a bank is only strong if the people that keep their money in it if everybody that had their money in 1 bank walked into that 1 bank and ask to close their account in 1 week where would that bank be?

Money used to be the power in America , today it's data, information and stocks, basicly a house of cards built on plastic., loans and promisery notes financial agreements and IOU'S.:peace

You know your right about the changes made over the years just by folks with determination alone. The time is ripe for sure, because folks are tired and riled about the way the country is going. And a great deal of them are turning against both current parties, things just might change.

I'm all for a third party. Either the Tea Party or the Tea Pot Party. I think Willie Nelson is the unofficial head of the Tea Pot Party.

Well , perhaps that post might be considered by some as a rant or rambling .

Perhaps this is true, perhaps not?

However I would ask a simple question since 1980 America has been passing it'd debt to the next generation.
In 2000 America had a small surplus.
Today it is 2012, I'm not really good at math but I figure 15 trillion plus that's at least the next 4 generation paying if there is a change.
If things stay the same as they are and are run the same way , in your opinion how many generations would it take just to pay the debt America owes to where it's acceptable say 100, million?:peace

Well in my humble opinion the Tea Party is just a bunch of Republicans on acid; still Ring Wing party.:peace

If we stay at the same level of spending, we don't have a chance of digging our way out, unless we raise taxes to "war" levels. And if the job market doesn't improve, then the tax burden falls on the half of the populations that is paying taxes. How long can these taxpayers sustain that burden, I don't know.

I think the reason why there is no recognized 3rd party is because the alternative parties that are out there are being misrepresented - or are full of tripe with their views. More so the first point: I'm told all the time that a vote for anyone other than a Republican or a Democrat is a waste of my vote, I shouldn't bother, and my allegiance should be with one of the big-two no matter what.

So - honestly - people are the reason why a 3rd party has failed to take significant root.

Your OP is a fine example of this - with such pasted statements that 'the Republicans only like rich and wealthy people' and 'Democrats only support poor and subclass people' - which is laughable, at best, because there are rich and poor on both sides of the aisle. - Classic misinformation and negativity that's rooted in little but personal bias and ignorance.

Agree, but I do believe voters are changing more each year. I know I am. I'm at the point I can't even watch the news, except local. When they start reporting national news I usually change the channel or turn the TV off.

No offense, but the vast majority of Americans are too mentally weak to accomplish much of anything but sit around and watch the country naturally break up into a bunch of tiny warring Republics.

An excellant answer, my compliments.

So unless I'm mistaken America has two choices either stay in debt and possible more debt or change, and keep passing the debt to the next generation.
Or change.
Question is; is the Republican or the Democratic party capable of making a change?
After all they have had 12 years.:peace
