I've got your answer for you, ladies. Especially those of you married to or dating insurance executives.

Stop having sex. Don't let them even have a peek at your boobs. No more sex for the men out there, at all.

See how fast the debate changes. If you were able to coordinate and sell that message, and follow through...a month would be all it would take.

Wasn't there a plot like that from some old culture? Roman maybe or Greek? But where is the problem? Buy contraceptives. They are better for the figure than a Big Mac any day.

To me, the logical solution is taking responsibility for your body, no matter what you do. Wanna **** with wild abandon? Go ahead, but for god's sake use your brain and don't end up pregnant. Prevention is easy these days. There is a price for growing up

Prevention was easy decades ago too. It's called "responsibility," and you're so right--each one of us should take it.

Sex strikes? You do realize that sex strikes done on a large scale are actually bad for women as what will happen is that the oppression of women will get worse, right. If sex strikes were successful the rights of women would be better around the world, but all that happens is that women are held down more if they take part in them. Sex strikes are really just stupid nonsense.

My wife doesn't get birth control because it's not covered in our insurance, which means, I have to wear a condom, or pull out, every time we have sex, because we can't afford another child.

Why is Viagra covered, but birth control not?

It's MORE than just 15 bucks a month...after Dr. Visits for prescriptions, it's more like 60-80 a month.

This isn't about responsibility, it's about getting what you pay for with insurance. The job of an insurer...what you PAY them to do, is cover a portion or all of your health care costs.

it isn't covered by her insurance she can still go to the doctor and get it i am not seeing where she is being restricted.
stop bring up viagra it has nothing to do with anything it is a false equivlancy and it fails as an argument.

80 bucks for a doctors visit is way cheaper than 20k for a kid. i would pay the 80 bucks.

So, what does that say about us, and our views towards women, Henrin? Don't you see what your saying? If your female, don't try anything to achieve a greater level of equality with your male counterparts, that'll just make them angry, and make things worse for you.

you are getting what you pay for. if you don't like the insurance that your company offers find one that offers better benefits. also unless your employer is except from obamacare your health insurance plan will have birth control.

you company defines the plan as they are the policy holder. you are simply paying access for that plan.

if you think you are getting a raw deal then find another company with better benefits or buy your own plan.

Why are you fighting so hard to help insurance companies be more profitable? Do you own stocks, or something?

Yes, 80 bucks a month is less than having a child. But why SHOULDNT birth control be covered by insurance?

So, instead of expecting health insurance companies to offer at least basic medical coverage, you propose I go from employer to employer looking for better plans? Uproot my family, toss the last couple years of my work life in the trash, etc, or I try to buy from a monopolized system at the state level that is notoriously poor coverage and high cost...

if a person can't afford something as cheap as bc, stop posting here and make more of yourself! stop being such a drain on society

health insurance has nothing to do with it. is what YOUR COMPANY SIGNS UP FOR. If you company decides that it si not going to pay for birth control coverage then the insurance company isn't going to offer it.

yes life isn't a sit back and collect a check type of thing. i have had to move multiple times. I have had to find multiple jobs including jobs that didn't offer health insurance at all.
nothing is stopping your wife from getting birth control pay the doctors visit and get her a prescription.

The Viagra ref stays. In many ways, covering Viagra, a drug that has NO use at all other than sex, while not covering the birth control pill, which many women use to help control their menstration...is simply outrageous.

It's discriminatory against women, and profiteering at its finest.

Failure to address the issue is a common sign of a losing argument. If you can't stay on topic, why post at all?

I'll make this simple for you. Is pregnancy a medical condition?

Not to mention the pill is not the right choice for all women. On MSNBC the other day one pundit was all excited because the ruling encouraged another journalist to suggest the solution of making pills available over the counter (ie $15 not $80) as they are in many countries. Clearly both are men and don't realize that the pill isn't the only or even the best option for many.

So...we don't have any sort of law that requires a basic minimum amount of services be offered when selling a health insurance policy?

All kinds of medical conditions are not covered.

Some people put too much emphasis on their own needs. My own life is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, as is yours.

Able bodied people that can't afford to take care of their own needs and wants really are pathetic, especially the ones that spend so much free time they could be using to actually provide for themselves.

That could work or we can just do what needs being done and decouple employee health insurance from employers. If they want to include some sort of health insurance reimbursement as part of your compensation, great, but it's the individual's compensation and choice as to what plan is appropriate (fiscally and morally) for said employee not the employer.

This is really the way it is now but apparently employers are under the delusion they are the benevolent overlords of their employees rather than someone paying compensation for work performed and somehow think they should have a say in what benefits an employee gets.

The gov't could also just say unless employer provided health insurance covers all mandated coverage it won't qualify for tax favorable treatment (ie tax free benefit to employee and escapes payroll taxes on employer's end).

that is what the ACA did. yet if your company is exempt from the ACA it means they don't have to. other than what the state insurance commission says has to be offered.
