THe obvious intent of the second amendment was to guarantee MY right and every other citizen of voting age to own the same basic rifle that the organized militia uses (national guard, state police etc). You either support the person's right to keep and bear arms without that right being fringed on or you don't.These politicians support all kinds of infringements on the 2nd amendment.

The second amendment was intended to protect the people of the several states from federal interference with their militias, and the fourth amendment was originally intended to protect the people of the several states from unreasonable search and seizure by the federal government. The people and the governments of the several states were practically synonymous. "The People" meant the white, land owning, Protestant gentry who comprised the voting population of that particular state.
