I predicted a Pink Ripple on Halloween (modest gains in the House for the GOP) and things are looking like that's what it turned out to be once the dust has settled.

Does this mean that the Red Wave looming is actually just a pink ripple?

Still much counting to do, but its clear that the Red Wave that pundits were predicting just didn't happen. Dems will probably keep control of the Senate, and without the Senate, House repubs can't really do very much anything.

Republicans can now begin investigations and determine if articles of impeachment are worth pursuing, however it's kind of pointless to impeach without support in the Senate. Senate dems would never vote to convict Biden on anything.

That was the huge mistake that Dems made with Trump - they didn't have support in the Senate, and both impeachments did a face-plant.

McCarty would be foolish to make that same boneheaded mistake.

Well, I hope they would impeach Biden if he tried to extort another country for election-cheating help and especially if he incited a violent insurrection attempt.

You don't think so?

Biden didn't cheat the election, and didn't attempt to incite violence. . . well, not directly anyways.

However, Biden is somewhat responsible for the violence and deaths resulting from the human trafficking at the border. Biden incited a "surge to the border", which indirectly led to the deaths of immigrants who mistakenly believed that Biden would protect them. Some of these immigrants paid with their lives.

But that would not be grounds for impeachment, IMO. McCarthy might disagree, and we might see Articles of Impeachment relating to Biden's deliberate mishandling of immigration.

There are other things Biden could be impeached for, but without Senate support, it would be pointless for the GOP to pursue them, IMO.

I think the big win is the house. Even if the senate is split, Biden isn't going to get much over the next 2 years.

I think you should be cheerleading for nonstop government shutdowns and hostage taking.

That's not a prediction. It's a question.

Then you said this without defining "prevail" or "back on track."
Those other prerdictions are separate from the Pink Ripple prediction. Thats why they are not in the same sentence.

It was a good prediction, and spot on. As far as I know, I'm the only one who made it.

Nothing "spot on" about it, but you earned a participation trophy.

My Pink Ripple was a good prediction, and you're jealous and bitter.

Which is also good. :)

"What all this I hear about Pink Nipples? There's nothing WRONG with pink nipples, why my own nipples are pink and lots of people have nipples that color!
I don't understand why the news med..... WHAT? WHAT IS IT?"

"Miss Letella, it's pink RIPPLE, the news media is calling last night's elections a pink RIPPLE, not nipple."

"Ohhhhhh! That's totally different! NEVER MIND!"

I believe that you are wrong. The House R's will demonstrate their love of America by shutting down the government because they don't want to pay the bills for spending they have already authorized. The big question is, will they shut it down long enough for America to lose the dollar as the global reserve currency?

You did good with your prediction!

Mr. Backbelt Critical Thinker,
Is a question the same thing as a statement?

If not, then the post you linked to didn't predict shit.

Well, on the plus side, we got Stacey and Beto gone :p

Biden didn't cheat the election, and didn't attempt to incite violence. . . well, not directly anyways.
Yes, but Trump did, and the Pub Senators let him slide. I'm asking if you think Dems would have let their guy slide, under those same circumstances.

I hope not. I hope they'd find him guilty and kick him out of the White House.
However, Biden is somewhat responsible for the violence and deaths resulting from the human trafficking at the border. Biden incited a "surge to the border", which indirectly led to the deaths of immigrants who mistakenly believed that Biden would protect them. Some of these immigrants paid with their lives.
That's your opinion of his policy decisions, but it's nothing near to the direct (criminal) actions which Trump took.

Dems could easily claim the same sort of harm caused by Trump's policies.
But that would not be grounds for impeachment, IMO. McCarthy might disagree, and we might see Articles of Impeachment relating to Biden's deliberate mishandling of immigration.
They can impeach him for stuttering. There is literally nothing for which they can't impeach him.

That was the huge mistake that Dems made with Trump - they didn't have support in the Senate, and both impeachments did a face-plant.

They didn't care whether it was a political miscalculation because they believed that scoundrels need accountability, something Republicans don't believe.

McCarty would be foolish to make that same boneheaded mistake.

He would, particularly since there's no reason to impeach him and the general public would see it for what it is.

I think it [the Red Wave] will be more like a pink ripple.

Yes, but Trump did, and the Pub Senators let him slide. I'm asking if you think Dems would have let their guy slide, under those same circumstances.
Trump?

Oh dear. 😔 You seem confused about what we are talking about here. The Pink Ripple refers to the Red Wave which is what republicans predicted.

I said that the Red Wave (decisive wins in both the House and the Senate) was not realistic. My Pink Ripple prediction referred to a modest shift of power in the House. Which did happen.

And what was YOUR prediction? Oh wait - you never made one.

Trump?

OMG. Trump (and his policies) had nothing to do with the Pink Ripple. It was republican being over-zealous. I called it. nobody else on this forum did. Why beat me up for a rational prediction?

Oh come on now. It's time for the democrats to get the same treatment they handed out. The other side of the coin, so to speak. At any rate the democrats have lost the House, Nancy is out as Speaker and the Senate is not out of reach yet. I for one am just glad the far left agenda of the democrats is now on hold.

Post YOUR prediction.

And let's compare my prediction against yours and figure out who was closest to what actually happened.

Thanks in advance. :)

In case you're serious, read back up the thread. Notice where you claimed, "Senate dems would never vote to convict Biden on anything."

But you seem uncomfortable following up on that, so....

Since he was mentioned earlier, it's looking like Beto was robbed by a Trumper Texan SC.

Sounds like Harris county is quite a place. The polls opened late, ran out of ballots, and cancelled the votes of anyone who voted legally having stood in line beyond closing time!
Lots of Texans tweeting about not being able to find their ballot on the official site, and being fobbed off!

Uh-oh. I hope it's not time for the Dems to invade the Capitol in Austin and put some legitimate political discourse on their asses!
