Wait so he uses "friends" as a word for "people we are willing to negotiate with"?
Only in the world of the far left.

Unsurprising. All mainstream media is fairly rabidly anti-socialist. Always has been. It was during the 80s and vastly over-rated the public support for the breakaway SDP. The positive aspect of modern politics is that mainstream broadcast and print media is becoming progressively less influential than social media in driving public opinion.
How much of the US mainstream media gave Bernie Sanders' policies a fair hearing? Mass media is a tool of corporate capitalism. Why would you expect them to behave against their own vested interest?
'People' have not rejected Corbyn. He's passed every electoral test he's faced so far. Labour have won every bi-election since Corbyn became leader. They had much better than expected local government election results and they have gained 500,000 new members in the past year. It's a measure of the brainwashing efforts of the British media that anyone could suggest that Corbyn is unelectable or has in any way been rejected. Why is it when people reject extreme left wing ideas, it's always the fault of the media?
Not simple so much as naively simplistic equine faeces.A much simpler and more accurate explanation is that most people find extremism, whether or the left or the right, horse****.
For good reason. He's an extreme left wing loon.

Young people in the UK are incandescent with rage and resentment at the Tories and at the Brexit vote. They're not going to be voting Tory, UKIP or Blairite next election. If Corbyn's still leader, they'll be voting Labour.

...He's an extreme left wing loon.
...he's an anti-Semitic left wing loon. As are all left wing loons.

You got that from the media. He's just not a rightist Blairite loon. His successes are played down, something like 70% of all articles written about him contain "errors" regarding his views.

The messiah complex was Blair's pulling Labour to the right, leaving Corbyn, unmoved, on the left of a party he used to be near the centre of. The people and the membership now vote for Corbyn in numbers, but the largely Blairite elite and their media masters such as Murdoch and Dacre hate him for it.
" A new report, published by the London School of Economics and Political Science, has confirmed the media’s bias against Jeremy Corbyn, claiming the press have turned into an “attackdog” against the opposition leader. It also illustrates how Labour politicians, who have been plotting against Corbyn, have been corrupting the media, long before the current coup.
Entitled “Journalistic Representations of Jeremy Corbyn in the Mainstream Press: From Watchdog to Attackdog”, the scathing report from the Media and Communications Department at LSE, heavily criticises the way Corbyn has been treated in the mainstream press...."

I'll say one thing about you confirmed Leftist hardliners - you surely do love your Messiahs.

Absolute bollocks. Corbyn has never been around the centre ground. He is as far left as they come....
Well, I'll say one thing about you 'slightly liberals', you love nothing but the sound of your own self-righteousness.
That's not what Manc claimed. He said: "The messiah complex was Blair's pulling Labour to the right, leaving Corbyn, unmoved, on the left of a party he used to be near the centre of." The centre ground of a left-wing party is always going to be significantly to the left of 'the centre ground', although I do think that Corbyn has always been on the party's left.
Which is what you love about him, right?
I like the fact that he correctly analyses the political use that the right has made of austerity - turning private losses into public liabilities so that tax payers shoulder bankers' debts. I like that he recognises that Trident renewal owes nothing to maintaining Britain's defence capability but siphons massive amounts of public finds to private multinational arms corporations. I love the fact that he exposes the way in which modern capitalism polarises society and creates an ever-greater degree of social and economic inequality, that the rich are getting ever richer, the poor getting ever poorer. I'm sure all that analysis is anathema to a liberal shill of corporate capitalism.
The trouble is Andy, bar his dislike of Trident or anything military for that matter, he does none of the above. He is one of the most incoherent leaders ever known. He has no appeal or ability to disseminate a message that appeals. You do a far better job at it

You mean no style over substance. Got it.
Will, I'm not convinced he has substance, to be honest. It's very easy to be critical of the present ideologically driven shambles. But again, he has to lay out a workable response in a way that resonates with most of the electorate. Ones past is a reasonable indicator of the future, and what does Corbyn have? Moreover, the absolute amateur way the opposition operates is an embarrassment to the country. He is a laughing stock.
Interesting stat. More people have joined the Labour Party in the past month than the entire membership of the Tory party. Are they all headbanging Trots? As Paul Mason pointed out on the Today programme, the entire complement of Trotskyites in Britain is in the single thousands. It's a lovely piece of propaganda to claim that the 700,000 Labour membership is entirely made up of ludicrous extremists, but does anyone really believe that? Maybe you do Paul, but I doubt it.
