The finding indicates that the president has quietly notified certain congressional leaders about the administration’s decision to conduct a broad program of clandestine operations inside the country. One former special forces officer said that Biden amended a preexisting finding, originally approved during the Obama administration, that was designed to counter malign foreign influence activities. A former CIA officer told The Intercept that Biden’s use of the preexisting finding has frustrated some intelligence officials, who believe that U.S. involvement in the Ukraine conflict differs so much from the spirit of the finding that it should merit a new one. A CIA spokesperson declined to comment about whether there is a presidential covert action finding for operations in Ukraine.

US IC has been overestimating the abilities of the Russian Military from the 1960's' till today. This is nothing new. The Russians are in fact a great defensive military and once an opponent has depleted himself attacking them, they can take advantage of that on the counter-offensive. Other than that.....NOT SO MUCH.

Has never prevented US IC from blowing them up to be the big bad boogie man. Myself I would not be all that surprised if the Russians fired off a nuke that went straight up and straight down, blowing themselves to kingdom come in the process.

If they could tell the future 100% of the time, it'd be called clairvoyance, not intelligence.

Besides, I've never seen an intelligence estimate which said "this will happen...". Sherman Kent would come back from the dead and kick that analyst's ass if they ever put something that stupid down on paper.

Biden gets everything wrong. Remember Afghanistan last year? Biden said the Afghan army was well-trained and could hold out for at least 1 year. The truth - less than 1 day.

Biden was wrong on gas prices, inflation, and of course his infamous hot-mic statement the other day - "No one ****s with a Biden" -- well the DOJ may do so as son Hunter may be in trouble according to leaked testimony during the last few days.

So it turns out that 'people are willing to and do **** with a Biden".

Biden gets everything wrong because he learned absolutely nothing during his 37 year 'career' in the US Senate or as VP for 8 years. I find it beyond incredible how anyone could do the same job for nearly 50 years and end up performing like the buffoon Biden truly is who is yelling about Hitler lately. Does Biden not know that WWII is over and the nazis were defeated?

Seriously, even with the Russian army parked on the Ukraine border, I don't think the CIA predicted Putin's invasion. I think that, despite its name, the CIA hasn't been an "intelligence agency" for many decades. For most of my life, they've just been sort of a free floating, rogue government, meddling in everything but intelligence.

The CIA has engaged in international trade, including high technology and weapons, outside the restrictions of the Department of Commerce. The CIA has trafficked in drugs outside the purview of the DEA. They have engaged in creating foreign policy outside the approval of the State Department. They've participated in paramilitary activities outside the auspices of the Department of Defense.

They have “black ops” funding, with little or no oversight into their operations. Any idea that their activities cross the desk of, and are sanctioned by, the POTUS is, quite frankly, laughable. They're just a rogue agency that, historically, has not been answerable to anyone, and operate outside our own laws, and outside international laws.

The CIA are outlaws!
 
Why pick on the CIA? I got it wrong too. I though Putin was bluffing. Everyone got it wrong.

As a matter of fact, most likely the only reason you posted "just like the FBI" is you are mad that your man love got caught stealing from Americans....not to mention that, according to you, he fast tracked a vaccine that harms children.
