The best analysis for why Democrats are going to lose power.

Yup. It will take a bit of explaining why Biden's agenda was sabotaged by two of our own.

Rather simple to explain. Holding the slimmest possible majority puts you at the mercy of the moderates. Democrats knew who Joe Manchin was long before 2020 - a Democrat elected by the reddest state in the country. Did they expect him to sacrifice his seat to the agenda?

Dems had super majorities in the House and Senate in 2008. What was passed? Republican healthcare reform.

There's no such thing as Republican health care reform. But the Dems did use their last big majorities to expand coverage to tens of millions of people and save the country trillions on health care spending, sure. "I voted Dem and all I got was the biggest expansion to the safety net since the Great Society" is quite the gripe.

"We have the same number of Senators as the GOP" is a pretty solid argument that we need more Dems if you want Dem things to pass.

Exactly, and i'm so sick of the nonsense of blaming democrats becuase republicans are do nothing assholes that can't possible allow dem adminstration to get anything done, and god forbid help the people. And Manchin and Sinema are not dems, they can just switch party affiliations right now. And why would anybody think he lets go back to republicans who do absolutely nothing and are the real cause of dems not getting anything done? It's clear that they won't even vote for a qualified candidate that keeps the court balance the same, people they approved prior. And the right can STFU about Kavanaugh and Barret, they have proven to be hacks and shitty unqualified choices.

they do it becuase the american people are such moronic assholes that they know if they block everything, they will get back into power. They are nervous with how big voter turnout was, so now they are working double time to suppress voting

Too many voters expect POTUS and Congress to get items passed on their fickle time table. The reality is that the system was designed to be slow and methodical. It’s one reason among many why the Presidents party loses seats and/or majorities in Congress. Now add the filibuster to the mix and we wonder the majority party in Congress cannot do enough.

It was not designed that way, it's what corrupt politicians have put into place so nothing gets done. The fillbuster isn't in the constitution and it is complete BS. And it wasn't designed for one party to hold teh country hostage by constantly blocking bills, or worse, not even allowing a vote when they have Senate. And American morons are going to put republican back into power? Dems don't even have above 50 majority, they can't even get fillbuster proof legislations since they basically have republicans masquerading as democrats.

and any democrat voters or independent that would vote republicans because Reps blocked everything they wanted to get done, they are complete morons. Republicans have proven they don't do anything but make it easier to do business, pass Taliban laws to pander to their deplorable base, and give billionaires tax breaks

And Manchin and Sinema are not dems, they can just switch party affiliations right now.

If they weren't Dems we wouldn't have gotten a replacement for Breyer. Just because they have certain frustrating, high-profile defections doesn't mean we're not infinitely better off with them caucusing with the Dems.

Because American's are absolute ****ing morons and those idiots deserve the shit this country has turned into. go back to do nothing republicans who will rack up more deficit giving rich people tax breaks and block any meaningful legislation.

all the issue this country is facing they whine about, and what do republicans do?
1. Anti abortion
2. Anti gay
3. Anti- trans
4. making voting harder

Yeah, the answer is to go back to republican Taliban who are the ones blocking all those things on the list

Republican run on nothing but hate and fear mongering. Yeah, lets go back to them who have no platform but to pander to racists deplorables
Try Canada.

Hint: It's NOT the messaging.

Dems treated that last election as if everything was on the line. Yet, when they gained power to enact change, they face planted.

They thought they could run solely on rehashing the Trump presidency and pushing extreme gender theory on school children. They were wrong.

At least they have the Jan 6th committee. 😂

Yes. For the good of the country. I did anyways

My rebuttal to the best analysis for why the Democrats might lose power is too much vile scum in America. That is unless they lose to a sane Independent.

lol, the stupid shit you people post is just astounding. It's so embarrassing, but wait, you people have no shame. hwo about moving to Afghanistan, it is what right wingers want for this country. They are jealous of the taliban

Of course, like every right winger, no actual argument. You can't even type more than 2 words. How embarrassing, even for moronic trolling

Republicans are not gonna quit doing what works for them. We must change and get out of defensive and go on the offensive.

Who is the great Senate Parliamentarian?

Sorry, I meant House Parliamentarian.

There's no such thing as Republican health care reform.

It was basically the 1990s Bob Dole Plan. It was cooked up in a conservative think tank. So yes, even though Dems passed it, it was a Republican idea.

I know, that's the Republican playbook. Plagiarizing is a sin in American politics.

A replacement for Breyer that does what? Dems don't understand power AT ALL. The Supreme Court is LOST.

Democrats, this is why ^^ you're losing voters en masse.

The GOP of the 1990s, like the GOP of the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, was not interested in doing anything about health care, other than taking it away from as many people as they could.

Pretending there's a world in which GOP leadership leads or would've led to more people getting healthcare is dangerous, particularly after we just spent a decade fending off relentless GOP attempts to take health care away from tens of millions of people. The Dems expanded the safety net, the GOP has been trying to gut it. This has been the story for decades. Stop pretending you can't figure out the difference between these parties.

Obamacare was based on ideas from the Heritage Foundation. That's just a fact.

Are you even paying attention? Clearly based on the last sentence, you are not.

The Dems lost seats in the House in 2020 and clawed their way to a 50-50 Senate.

The Dems got a 50-50 Senate because an outgoing President decided to throw a temper tantrum and turn the runoff in Georgia into a circular firing squad for Republicans. Democrats didn't "claw" to that; Trump gifted it to them.

Crediting the largest expansion to the safety net since the Great Society to the Heritage Foundation to avoid acknowledging the Dems is a joke.

I need to go dig up the post where, at the time, I predicted that, in a few years, Democrats would be blaming Republicans for Obamacare.

Obamacare is an improvement that came out of the Heritage Foundation. It was the free market alternative to socialized / universal healthcare.

Are you saying it wasn't? Either we're dealing in facts or we are not.

I need to go dig up the post where, at the time, I predicted that, in a few years, Democrats would be blaming Republicans for Obamacare.

The reason Republicans didn't vote for it was out of political expediency (e.g. racism among their base), not because it wasn't founded on conservative ideas.

Obamacare is an improvement, but will always be a symbol of the Democrats squandering power to appeal to the center or right-wing.

It is sad that we live in such strong bubbles now that people think this sort of thing about the Other.
