archaic and delusional ideasOr we should make them do it using both legal and social stigma.
Once kids are involved it’s not your decision anymore.
ahhhh! the conservative utopian society. you can not force human behavior. We should ask adults to be responsible when it comes to picking life term partners, especially if children are involved.
When it comes to divorce and breaking up a family, it is not just about who you dislike. It is your responsibility as parents to at the very, very least work things out until your children have left the nest. There is extensive scientific and statistical research which proves that divorced households are absolutely catastrophic for developing children. It's unironically probably the #1 affliction in our society and one of the primary contributors to downstream social ills like domestic abuse, drug use, depression, and so on.
Right, because who needs freedom, liberty, and less government oversight? There’s many ways in which it would be great to emulate Russia.
Russia in many ways has more freedom. In 2008 the people of California voted in a free and fair election with no allegations of fraud or coercion to protect the definition of marriage to one man and one woman, and the Democratic Party denied them their electoral victory. In Russia people wanted that protection and the Putin government immediately enacted it in 2013 and no alphabet special interest groups have been able to repeal this lawRight, because who needs freedom, liberty, and less government oversight?
Elected in a special election in December, Deevers represents the town of Elgin, in Oklahoma’s rural southwest, where he grew up and serves as the pastor of a Baptist church.
Interesting way of saying “Prop 8 was found unconstitutional”Russia in many ways has more freedom. California wanted to grant rights, and was found to be Constitutional. Russia takes them away or does not grant them. It's clear which side you've thrown your lot in with.Russia in many ways has more freedom. Here's a guy who must not have read a word Thomas Jefferson ever wrote. He's certainly never taken a science book seriously.
Dusty Deevers is a fundamentalist preacher. He’s also a state senator. And he insists he doesn’t see “any firewalls” between his two roles — as he crusades to outlaw porn, end what he decries as the “abortion holocaust,” and abolish no-fault divorce in Oklahoma. He argues that the sole purpose of government is to “promote what is good in accordance with the will of God.”
Elected in a special election in December, Deevers represents the town of Elgin, in Oklahoma’s rural southwest, where he grew up and serves as the pastor of a Baptist church. The 47-year-old politician’s views are extreme — even for a Christian nationalist. Surveying American society, Deevers does not see a religious sphere and a secular sphere. He sees only Christian and Satanic.
“Either you’re coming under the rule of God your creator … or you’re going to come under the rule of The Serpent,” he said during a January podcast. In Deevers’ view, civil society, apart from the influence of overt Christian doctrine, is not a neutral middle ground, but rather the realm of the devil, or what he calls “a serpentine theocracy.”
Interesting way of saying “Prop 8 was found unconstitutional”
But hey…rewriting history is your thing.
No, the state as a whole didn’t think that was a right to be grantedCalifornia wanted to grant rights,
Russia granted the right to actual democratic rule. The regime follows the wishes of the people, which is why the Russian regime has popularity numbers unheard of in “democratic” Americaand was found to be Constitutional. Russia takes them away or does not grant them
It clearly was not unconstitutional.Interesting way of saying “Prop 8 was found unconstitutional”
It’s not re-writing history, it’s plainly what happenedBut hey…rewriting history is your thing.
He didn’t. But to democrats the idea of a woman becoming a wife and mother is toxic because married women don’t vote for democrats so the entire assault on the marriage institution is clearly for their benefit. It’s likely mass immigration. To them what benefits their political party is keywhere did he ever say
"We'll force girls to marry us and then prevent them from leaving when they learn they’ve been trapped in an abusive marriage”
??????????????

Proposition 8 was ultimately ruled unconstitutional by a federal court (on different grounds) in 2010
Don’t lie.It’s not re-writing history, it’s plainly what happened
So a federal court decided to become an unaccountable junta and invent and heretofore unheard of constitutional principle. The ruling is illegimate and thus the prop is not “unconstitutional”2008 California Proposition 8 - Wikipedia

I don’t recall that being your reaction to Dobbs
I’m sorry, but last I checked courts don’t care about your opinion.
Rights are not put to popular vote. No, the state as a whole didn’t think that was a right to be granted
Good thing we are not a true democracy and rights are guaranteed and protected by the Constitution.Russia granted the right to actual democratic rule. The regime follows the wishes of the people, which is why the Russian regime has popularity numbers unheard of in “democratic” America
How so? Be specific! It clearly was not unconstitutional.
You seem to be on the wrong side of history. It’s not re-writing history, it’s plainly what happened
Rights are not put to popular vote.
The constitution doesn’t say anything about privileging sodomyGood thing we are not a true democracy and rights are guaranteed and protected by the Constitution.

“Stay together for the kids” is a bullshit idea and does nothing but subject kids to living in a household where people fight and don’t get along.
And you think forcing people to stay in dysfunctional marriages is going to result in a better outcome?
Frankly, we would be better off with doing away with the concept of marriage than we would be with forcing people to stay in marriages that are unhappy.
Marriage is a legal contract. No more, no less.
What does sodomy have to do with marriage? You must be confused. Besides, there is no prohibition or enforceable laws against sodomy. So once again, you fail!
The constitution doesn’t say anything about privileging sodomy
Yes. Because it does. Stigma is the most effective tool for preventing bad behavior. It’s why there’s no graffiti on the subway in Russia
