Many states are sending fire equipment and firefighters to include 2 I have read about.
Texas and Arizona. It's a all hands on deck response. With the winds kicking up again all the help that can respond will be needed.
Thanks to all who are helping fight the monster fire.

Your link comes with a paywall, but good on Canada and Mexico. We helped Australia in a similar manner several years back when they were dealing with such fires.
 
We live on a large lake not far from an airforce base. Often they do exercises over our lake and one of them is these scoopers swooping down on the lake and picking up water they then dump in the forest. It's fascinating to watch. Glad they are in CA doing what they can.

We don't really know the extent of the damage. Besides the wing surface there may have been damage to internal mechanical systems or the fuel tank.

The plane flew safely back to the strip without difficulties. No reports of any control, hydraulic, or fuel problems.

The CL 415's wings are almost "over built" with structural redundancy to handle the stress of a accidental water slap.

That's a basic 3 hour patch job for any Canadian (ACS tech) or US Navy/Marines/Air Force structural mechanic............and I'm pretty sure that we value the lives of out fighter pilots. (y)

They don't allow it. Drone use in the fire zone was restricted. That should not have been airborne.
There are not communication channels with hobby drones. Search FAA Drones. That will spell out all the rules and regulations. The FBI is actively searching for the gulity party.

Don't expect Presidents Trump and Musk to express gratitude in a diplomatic fashion, but most Americans appreciate the assistance from Canada and Mexico.

Well, when the librul leadership of the state leaves the reservoirs dry in a state subject to intense drought, who else should be blamed? Disneland characters? Perhaps Minnie Mouse or Elmer Fudd?
