Holocaust minimization is Holocaust denial. You are engaged in Holocaust denial.
I dont want to seem like I'm minimizing it.
that came after they said it....how do you mistakenly say that you need an opposing view to the Holocaust? You don't....they apologized after the outrage. From your own link....
to present why it is wrong? Yes.....although we don't teach information about the horrors of our own Holocaust of Native Americans....nor the shame that goes along with that.I would think it would almost be a must to present the Nazi rationale. The kids need to understand how a nation can be bullied and buffaloed into something so heinous and its people be convinced to believe that it is the right thing.
If they see similarities to our present day United States, they should see them on their own, not be led by an agendized teacher with no balancing viewpoint presented.
there is one that compares. What we did to Native American Indians. You are. Pretending anything compares is.
Never again.
The citizens elected them. What does that say about them?My theory is that MAGA has driven the Texas GQP stark raving mad. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes the citizens to notice.
One individual said this and was immediately rebuked by the school district. A non story a non issue and a desperate attempt to trash Texas. This is a result of Texas House Bill 3979
Opposing views would include Holocaust deniers is one way to interpret this. That would not go well.
Another is the Law is an an attack on facts
Educators are cowed by this law.

I haven't read a single scholarly treatise on Nazis, Hitler and the Holocaust which doesn't mention Versailles, punitive post-WW1 reparations, Hitler's populist opportunism, and promises to MGGA (Make Germany Great Again). For a nation struggling with near-starvation (800,000 died in 1918), rampant inflation and poverty Hitler's rhetoric must have sounded like manna from heaven. The harsh reality of the anti-Semitic genocide only dawned when it was too late for decent Germans to protest-and risk a nasty death. And every historical course presents the Nazi rationale. But some people want the teachers to stay silent if some kids adopt such rationale based on whatever trash they find in internet.

Funny song just to "liten" the mood.It looks as though you've posted some sort of a Youtube there in #59.
Is that what that is, a Youtube?

I think you would be much more at home at Storefront instead of polluting this forum with your anti-semitism.Can you enlighten me here, does this forum take all the holocaust claims as judicial fact or is it just you who requires everyone to believe as you do?
In the future, if that become established political fact, they will be.They can learn that just by current events. Just look at how some folks glommed onto the Reality TeeVee host for instance.
Many are perfectly willing, actually eager, to cast aside Democracy in favor of a boorish bloviating turd like donnie trump.
I would predict in the future students will be taught about the donnie trump debacle as an example of how some folks are so easily misled and manipulated. The guy wasnt even an effective or inspiring speaker like Hitler, in fact donnie trump sounded like a complete imbecile when he attempted to speak.
I hope they learn their lessons well.
Really? I remember clearly learning about that in High School. Also the evils of slavery and the atrocity of the Japanese-American camps.to present why it is wrong? Yes.....although we don't teach information about the horrors of our own Holocaust of Native Americans....nor the shame that goes along with that.
In the future, if that become established political fact, they will be.
In Texas currently, if a teacher wants to present that "information," she will have to present more than one viewpoint, since Trump is part of a current political and/or social controversy and debate.

That was the seventies, though. Schools today may be too busy teaching about the environment and the LGBTQ+ movement to have time for history.
Well, yes.I find that giving Trumos point of view on an issue tends to undermine it.
Our public schools are not what they used to be.Amazingly, most white Americans and many others still do not know that slavery and its extention was the major cause of the Civil War.
History should not have a point of view. Facts are facts. The victor will always be the judge, and the vanquished the accused. Hermann Goring, Nuremburg OR
History is written by the victors, attributed to Winston Churchill, but he wasn't the first to say it.
I think it's extremely important to present history with alternate points of view in schools. It's the only way to ensure that children are not victims of propaganda and achieve a certain clarity, even if that clarity merely proves the vagaries of historical accounts and the conflicting nature of historical context. There are historical figures and events that are immensely unpopular and some very popular. Regardless, it's important that we do our best to present ideas that inspire students to be thoughtful in their analysis of the past, and hopefully that will translate into being more discerning about their present world. Thanks!!

Other perspectives? Holocaust denial? Holocaust cheering. **** Texas and **** the GOP.
Evil really is the point.
