Tennessee Rethuglicans have decided: Bathroom bills should return.

Just so we're clear, those Rethuglicans want to force businesses to make it public if trans people are allowed to simply go to the correct restroom. They don't care that trans people have NEVER been a threat to cis people, and that all the transphobic claims of trans men attacking cis girls in the restroom amounted to precisely nothing. Those Rethuglicans need to stop getting their idea from the Scarlet Letter and start purging the sexual predators that keep emerging from their own ranks.

They go a lot in Tennessee. What they don't know is that some people have always gone to the restroom that doesn't necessarily match their birth certificate. This didn't start with the pundits. Nobody knew; nobody cared. But now it's the latest trending craze!

It's the bathroom for Christ's sake!

Apparently, the politicians in Tennessee are either too stupid to keep with the recent SCOTUS rulings or they know that they are pandering to MAGAites who reject both constitutional facts and watch Fox. The SCOTUS ruled on this issue a year ago.

The Supreme Court brushed aside a lawsuit Monday aimed at barring transgender students from bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity.

The high court has decided not to hear the case aimed at ending an Oregon school district's policy of allowing transgender students to use facilities that match their gender identity.

The Supreme Court's rejection of the appeal is a win for civil rights groups that worried that the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, which cemented a conservative majority on the bench, would “threaten LGBTQ equality.”

This stupid bill cannot survive a court challenge if the governor signs it. Freedom of religion is bat stake here. Nobody has the right to tell people who were born with a psychiatric disorder, "Get out of here now! Why don't you go use the other restroom?" But they do have every right to believe because God makes all creatures male or female, choosing to change genders is a sin. I respect his belief, but because gender dysphoria is a genetic condition, calling it a sin is totally unacceptable.

Jesus did not oppose trans people.
Matthew 19:12,
Not everyone can accept this word,” He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given. 12For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.” 13Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.…

Jesus also taught the Golden Rule. Matthew 7:12, Jesus wasn't a bigot.
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 19:12,

This is a section on marriage, not changing gender. If someone taught you that you should lean on that verse in order to enable the sick in their sickness, they lied to you.

What exactly is to enable the sick in their sickness?

To reinforce a delusion to the deluded. We do not help the paranoid schizophrenic by confirming that "They" really are out to get tthem

Regardless, Matthew 19 is a discussion on marriage, not self-mutilation.

There is no evidence that transgendered people are deluded. On the contrary there is medical facts to support their incongruent gender identity. The idea that trans people are delusional was rejected by medical science in the 1950s.

They are indeed. No where else do we say that, when the mind and physical reality disagree, it is physical reality that is wrong.

However, that's a sidebar, as the point was about the incorrect depiction of scripture.

Why do you oppose people's personal freedoms to live their own lives?

If transgdered people were deluded then they would be given medication to treat those delusions. That was tried a long time again and it was both ineffective and dangerous. The idea of gender identity has been accepted by the medical community for more than 50 years. It was John Money in the 1970s who decided to test if it was nurture or nature but he didn't attempt to deny that gender identity exists or that it was s a delusion.

You might want to tell that to Murat Altinay at the Cleveland Clinic. I cant get you his number or email if you are interested and tell him that you know more than he does. I'm sure that he will be impressed with your knowledge.

Where does gender originate?

In the birthing process, a medical professional will declare your baby a boy or a girl based on their sexual organs — but does this determine their gender?

“We’re trying to change the understanding of gender,” says psychiatrist Murat Altinay, MD. “That’s one of my big goals. The main question I’m asking is, ‘Where is the gender?’”

We know that as an embryo forms, the genitalia specializes into either male or female. But what about development in the brain?

“The brain and the body can go in different directions,” Dr. Altinay says. “Gender is not only in our genitalia; there’s something in the brain that determines gender.”

Male, female and transgender brains

“The male and female brain have structural differences,” he says. Men and women tend to have different volumes in certain areas of the brain.

“When we look at the transgender brain, we see that the brain resembles the gender that the person identifies as,” Dr. Altinay says. For example, a person who is born with a penis but ends up identifying as a female often actually has some of the structural characteristics of a “female” brain.

And the brain similarities aren’t only structural.

“We’re also finding some functional similarities between the transgender brain and its identified gender,” Dr. Altinay says.

Why do you oppose people's personal freedoms to live their own lives?
Oh look.

A Strawman. :)

And labeling it unisex is a bad thing?

If transgdered people were deluded then they would be given medication to treat those delusions.

The argument that "if a condition exists, people with it will be given medication that will correct it" does not logically follow, as it assumes:

1. That a condition will be correctly diagnosed.
2. Having been correctly diagnosed, it's cause will be determined.
3. Having been accurately diagnosed and cause determined, humans will be able to come up with an effective treatment.
4. Having the ability, humans will then do so.
5. That effective treatment, having been created in response to a correct diagnosis and accurate determination of cause combined with the will and dedication of resources to manufacture, will be made available to the patient.

So, for example, using the logic you present, we could say: alzheimer's patients do not currently recieve medication that reverses their memory loss. Clearly alzheimer's does not exist.

That was tried a long time again and it was both ineffective and dangerous.

Life, for example, when we used to bleed people in response to a wide variety of ailments.

I'm aware of that experiment. Upon reaching his teens, the boy Money had mutilated as an infant and tried to have raised as a girl discovered what had happened to him, repudiated it, tried to get surgically fixed back, and, along with his twin brother, later killed himself.

The SCOTUS has already settled the question. Post #3.

How can trans people be a threat to anyone when women's bathrooms have all stalls with a lock? What kind of person are you?

How is what you are claiming, that doesn't happen, even possible?

Chill Lisa, chill.

I have no problem with unisex bathrooms. They just need to labeled as such.

What did trans people ever do to you by living openly as who they are
Huh.

Another strawman :)

You're motivated to enable people with this condition because you want to care for them.
That's a good motivation. But people who disagree with your conclusions often aren't disagreeing with your motivations. They disagree with your conclusions. ;)

Are you somehow suggesting that transgendered people do not exist because of your pretzel logic?

Chill Lisa, chill.

There is no need for a 3rd unisex bathroom unless you want to eliminate both male and female bathrooms and just have large unisex bathrooms, which are common in many countries and don't have any problems with sexual assault?

Another strawman :)

You're neither a Dr nor a psychologist and your ideas are both absurd and medically dangerous,. to put it very politely.

I am not the one who argued that, if a condition exists, the person with it will recieve effective medication, in an attempt to argue against the existence of a condition. That would be you, in post 13. My point was that - contrary to your argument - maladies exist independent of whether or not we have or provide all sufferers with effective treatment.

You're neither a Dr nor a psychologist and your ideas are both absurd and medically dangerous,. to put it very politely.

I happen to believe the same about yours :-/.

However, this is all a side bar. As stated: the section of Matthew you cited is a discussion of marriage, not self-mutilation.

Is that your euphemism to redefine transgdered people as delusional and treat them for delusions that they do not have and you can't prove exists?

Transgendered people arent mutilating themselves and neither are their doctors, despite your unsupported claims.

:( That is literally what they are doing. And yes, when the mind believes something that is contrary to physical reality, it is not reality that is wrong.

However, again, this is an aside, as the point was your misuse of Matthew 19, which is a discourse on marriage, not self-mutilation. :-/

I think the point is that straight sexual predators can dress as a trans and go into ladies' bathrooms.
