Ted Nugent Will Attend State of the Union Address[W:496, 768]

re: Ted Nugent Will Attend State of the Union Address[W:496]

Who are you trying to fool Danbury? Yourself? You're not fooling me or anyone else who's had the pleasure of viewing your commentary here or on Politico - you make Nancy Pelosi look like a Tea Party right wing radical nut you're so far off the left cliff. So save your nonsense for someone else.

Well, so long as we're not trying to insult people, like liberals are wont to do -as you astutely point out - just because they disagree!

At any rate, not trying to fool anyone. I'm quite in the middle, leaning left, and the lean is likely more because the American right has become so crazy, it is only sane to lean as far away from them as possible, w/o becoming an obstinate liberal.

But I'm curious as to why, if you "don't care what historians or I think..." you post your opinion here. Are you of a belief that we SHOULD care what YOU think but we will get a lashing if we express similar posts??? How does that work?

Two points:

1. I quite rightly identify you for what you are - very left wing - if you are insulted by someone pointing this out to you, so be it - it's a shame that you're not proud of who you are and what you think and are embarrassed to celebrate those views - I'm not the least bit shy or embarrassed by my opinions - it's why I express them and defend them.

2. You decided to insert yourself in a discussion I was having with someone else, someone who challenged my belief that Jeb Bush would be the Republican nominee in 2016 and he felt that GW Bush had made it impossible for a Bush to run again. I simply was providing my opinion of the former President, to him and I was having a civil, adult discussion with him. I neither asked for your opinion or care about it. It was my mistake to respond to your comments because that clearly gave you the impression I gave a rats ass about your view of my opinions.

And Heckuva job Brownie.

Another high moment in the hit parade of lunacy that was Bush's misrule!

1) While I am very grateful for your exertions in telling ME about ME, and while the arrogance in your deciding you know me better than I know myself is truly breathtaking, I think I'll declare "what" I am, if you don't mind.
2) I never said I was insulted by you over your calling me liberal. a) I'm not insulted because I don't see "liberal" (or "conservative", for that matter) as a pejorative term. I distinctly and very clearly said the RIGHT uses it as a pejorative. See? And you of course DID use it as a pejorative directed at me, and I can prove it. How? Because you attributed to "you liberals" negative traits that have nothing to do with a person's political identity, such as "needing to be told how to think and feel and, using personal insults. See, it makes no sense because of course the American right is MUCH more in lockstep in terms of thinking and feeling, and they in fact DO heed the messages and "instructions" to repeat what they are told to repeat by right-wing media, namely radio and FOX. However, you ascribed negative traits to liberals only, then lumped me in that group (I am not liberal, but I find it fascinating that you don't care what professional historians think and declare, but YOU can declare you know me better than I do. Fascinating!), ergo, you use "Liberal" as an insult.

see?

2) I inserted myself into a discussion going on on a public forum! Well, 30 lashes with a wet noodle for moi! How DARE I!

3) Please point to where the person, with whom you were dialoguing in a public forum, asked you for YOUR opinion about where Bush will fall in the annals of history. What? That person didn't ask you for your opinion? And yet, you gave it! Gasp!

To other posters here: I'm new here, so please tell me, is there some rule where only Canada John can provide unsolicited opinions AND that any discussion he is involved in may NOT involve anyone other than him and one other person, no moseying on in!?

anyone?

I would think you would encourage nonsense; you seem to collect it.

Meantime, vigorous your defense of Ted Nugent, a draft dodger, drug using, ex-con and psychopath who seems unable to bark out a sentence without threatening somebody with a gun, as the flower of conservatism is noted and appreciated.

"This is an impressive crowd, the Haves and the Have Mores. Some people call you the elites. I call you my base."

Yes, fine, fine man, and just what we want in a president.

My mistake - I was foolish to participate in a discussion with you - I should know better than to waste my time - you can be assured that I will ignore you from this point forward. Take care and enjoy yourself.

By all means, run! Run with the wind! No wonder you guys need guns. Sheesh, I"m askeered of WORDS! But guns are AWESOME! Reminds me, CJ, of how the NRA's first action after Newtown was to also run away and avoid any WORDS by taking down their Facebook page.

re: Ted Nugent Will Attend State of the Union Address[W:496]

NRA and Gun nuts: "Guns don't hurt people. Words hurt people. I'm not speaking to you anymore So there!"

good grief. No wonder they need guns to make them feel like real men.

re: Ted Nugent Will Attend State of the Union Address[W:496]

Isn't he the guy who kept defecating in his pants to not get drafted to Vietnam ?..

Well depends on which story you read. Nuge used to have a different story on his website. There it is claimed he got a deferment to go to a local community college- never mind further down it is claimed his band spent over 300 days on the road.

He is yet another all mouth no action who never has stood up to any sort of risk but talks a mean game of what he would do if....

lots of all mouth patriots running around these days...

Pretty brave ranting to their 'special' audience... not so brave away from it.

You know, when you gun bashers spend more time hurling insults at the NRA than (often liberal) criminals who use guns illegally, its rather easy for us to conclude that the anti gun laws you propose are designed to harass the NRA rather than restrict criminals

if someone has a talent that allows him to make lots of money, it seems to me that its stupid for society to send him off to do a job many can do in place of a job few do.

you see, once a draft is in place individual rights no longer matter and its all about the "good of society" trumping the rights of the individual. And its stupid to waste people with real talents who can make lots of money that then pays for all the war toys, on the battlefield.

How is noting what those gun nuts DO (run off boards, shut down their Facebook page, etc.) insulting them? how is it insulting to simply note the irony of people who love guns being askeered of words?

And may I have your source that shows criminals are "often liberal"? No, huh?

In 2001 or 2002, Stanford law Professor Pamela Karlan (the person Obama SHOULD HAVE PICKED if he wanted a liberal jewish lesbian on the court btw) appeared at the University of Cincinnati Law School to talk about her effort on behalf of the NAACP to re enfranchise convicted felons. She noted that if felons could vote Gore would have easily won because her research indicated that a large majority of felons will vote for the democrats when they do vote

And there will always be a few very selfish, timid individuals who will stand duty to country on it's head. Good thing the plantation and business owners of 1776 all didn't think the way Patrick Henry did, all mouth and no courage.

Now as for talent, just like many liberal 'gun' grabbers in Hollywood, it doesn't seem to take that much 'talent' to make a lot of money, I seriously doubt our world is seriously diminished if Ted or anyone from the trust fund world made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Grand Republic. Plenty of others to fill the void.

Course pure arrogance sees a rich man's life as more 'important' than a poorer man's, or for that matter to think money is THE 'gold standard' to measure anyone's life.

You miss the point

the draft is all about collective rights. individual rights mean nothing, and based on that, society should allocate talent where it is needed.

It has nothing to do with the faux elitism that seems to bother you so much

as to "trust funders" My uncle volunteered for one of the most dangerous jobs going in WWII-a carrier based naval aviator fighting the Rising Son. He was KIA. My nephew another so called trust funder just returned from Afghanistan running an A camp in some god forsaken remote area. At the end of WWII Yale had supplied more officers to the USA than West Point and Annapolis

No you and ted dodged the point. my uncle??? A nephew???? Other people having a sense of service somehow exempts the trust fund crowd? PLENTY of less well off can claim a strong service lineage, can point to sacrifice. Why are they better suited?

I enjoy the concept that patriotism is conditional to wealth. it isn't faux elitism, it is arrogance, plain and simple.

The money will be made no matter if the trust fund baby or the software developer gets it. Doesn't matter if it is Rosanne Barr or Ted Nugent.

There is a difference between a guy who talks like a tuff guy online but points to others when it comes to risk and sacrifice vs the Tillmans who forsake millions to serve as an enlisted man.

You either get it or you don't.

...Anecdotal evidence suggests that the conservative rocker had a grand old time. Don’t overinterpret the body language in those photos of the Motor City Madman sitting up in the gallery next to a bow-tied, bleached-haired hipster, Thomas Lauderdale, a longtime liberal activist from Portland, Ore....

Update: Ted Nugent’s cross-aisle schmoozing at the State of the Union - The Reliable Source - The Washington Post

It appears as though he did very well :bravo:

Proof of that is 20 pages on this web site dedicated to Uncle Ted. I'm sure it makes him giddy that the mere mention of his name pisses off Liberals/Progressives/Socialtards everywhere.

Actually it is reassuring to see that the right has not wised up and will continue to alienate the majority to satisfy their need for revenge. Their world is dying of old age and they need to vent their sorrow. Ted is a perfect example of why the rest of us won't miss it. What a pathetic loser.

Lol. Revenge? What are you talking about? I don't see what this has to do with revenge. Ted Nugent happens to be a citizen who has a greater audience than most, and he is also very politically motivated, has strong convictions and wanted to be a guest at the State of the Union. So what?

I suppose you guys would feel better if all dissent was stifled, and if private citizens were not allowed to publicize their opinions.

Also, I don't hear you guys complaining when other celebrities use their status to push their views.

Ever try saying "Obama", "Gore", "Clinton", "Streisand", "Baldwin", "Soros"... to conservatives/regressives? And btw, "socialtards" to describe liberals and progressives makes no sense. "Tard" = to SLOW, so "social tard" would be someone slow to progress in terms of social matters, which actually fits the right more.
