Support the Constitution! Show up and rally Saturday

Not at all. I'm sorry that you think anarchy is good.
Wow, LA isn't in the throes of anarchy, more like a FAUX Noise trying to pretend protests against TACO is an insurrection.
I strongly support standing up the TACO and his attempts to stifle free speech.... ✌️

The hate-mongering left will not take a day off.

They’re just mad that it wasn’t their idea. That topped Disney’s Millennium Celebration at Epcot by a country mile. 🎉 😆 Best recruitment commercial the Army’s ever had. Worth every penny of that $45 million. 😆

Having seen images of the empty parade route, POTUS falling asleep and Rubio yawning on national tv…my heart goes out to the Army soldiers that had to participate in this debacle of a parade for Trump.

Such a contrast to the images across the country for the No Kings protests coast to coast attended by millions

“No Kings.” That’s funny. What do you think was happing on this day 250 years ago? Congress established the Continental Army to wage a war against—a king. And why did it do that? Apparently so rock-throwing assholes who love Mexico more than America could riot. 🤷‍♂️

I’m aware of the history.

Do you think that same Continental Congress and those who fought against a King would have approved of having a military parade roll past a President on his birthday?

I sure don’t.

Recruitment is up on all service branches again after falling short under Biden.
~~
What struck me was the juxtaposition of daily riots in LA vs. the Army parade with all the old historical uniforms and weapons.
For some reason young people, or leftists/activists, or migrants ( meaning some or all of these) simply lack any patriotism.

The USA happened because we fought and died for it, and the government was designed exactly for No Kings
However not weeks of rioting over and over like LA and other dysfunctional venues. It's become pure theater. The state officials look so lame

The show happened. it was almost 100% about the Army.

You leftist haters are pathetic.

Recruitment is up because young men and women know they won't be going back to Afghanistan - thanks to Biden!

Bullshit.

Like an unattended Army parade in D.C. to commemorate the birthday of a draft dodger.

I sure don’t.

If the parade had been about Trump, probably not. But other than the veep wishing him Happy Birthday and the Golden Knights giving him a flag, that wasn’t the case. It was all Army. And it’s problematic to celebrate the birthday of the Army without a military parade.

Ya I guess they figure they aren't going to get blown up by a failed EVAC again.

If you are interested:
PRICE: The military also boosted spending on advertising and marketing. And perhaps most importantly, the Army, in 2022, created the Future Soldier Preparatory Course, which tutors potential enlistees to improve their test scores and helps those who don't meet the weight standards trim down. Last year, the Army got nearly one-quarter of its recruits through that program, and Kuzminski says it's cost effective.

KUZMINSKI: It's actually much more expensive in marketing and outreach to change someone's mind about whether or not they want to serve in the military than it might be to help individuals who don't currently meet the standard come up to the standard.

PRICE: One thing that stands out about the Army's recruitment growth is that it's disproportionately driven by women. In the 2024 recruiting year, about 10,000 women enlisted, an 18% increase from the year before.
KUZMINSKI: Whereas for male recruitment, we saw only an 8% increase.

Bullshit.
well im not going to get into an argument about what is patriotic, but I see many more flags burned then displayed for Flag day today
Like an unattended Army parade in D.C. to commemorate the birthday of a draft dodger.
It was an interesting tribute to the Army .Draft dodgers are patriots too

Really? Where did you see flags burned. I had a chance to visit my family's neighborhood in a New Jersey suburb today, and it seemed like everybody had their flag out.

Keep democracy alive. Use our voices to denounce creeping authoritarianism. See you there Saturday.
Now that’s the no kings protest is over, I’ll be watching Trump’s overall job approval/disapproval and his favorable/unfavorable rating over the next week or so to see if anything change or if the no kings protests did any good or changed anyone’s mind.

This is my baseline. Trump’s overall job performance

Trump’s favorable/unfavorable

It’ll take a week or so for the polls to catchup with today’s events.

Biden’s “Saigon 1975” moment was four years ago. Recruitment sucked through the rest of his presidency. So unless there was a “lag effect” thing going on, I don’t think that was it. 🤷‍♂️

No Kings was not designed to win MAGA hearts and minds. It was designed as a show of nonviolent force against this out-of-control president. And it worked!

Literally everything politically, legally and culturally is going your way, and you still are still malding.

Goodbye losers.

In the words of a great World War I hero, "I'd rather be a pig than a Fascist" and I would rather be a loser than a Libertarian.

There’s nothing that can be done that will change MAGA republican, pro-Trump minds just like there’s nothing that can be done to change any anti-Trump, democratic minds. Now the group known as independents, the non-affiliated, the less to non-partisans minds can be changed or shifted from one side to the other.

If no kings protest was nothing more than to have a public display of the anti-Trumper, I don’t see that it accomplished much outside of making the anti-Trumpers feel better about themselves, at least for a while. The big question is what difference did it make? Did it win over anyone who was sitting on the fence? Did it make Trump change how he’s governing? We already knew the country is divided roughly evenly between pro and anti-Trump forces. So, you had your no kings protests, Trump had his military parade and today we’re back to square one exactly where we were before all of this happened.

Myself, I’d be concentrating on winning over as many independents as possible. It’s the midterms next year that will be the next battlefeild. Along with winning back many previous democratic voters who voted in 2016 and 2020 that stay home and didn’t vote in 2024.

I suspect the demonstrations had a profound effect. My experience has been that they always do. There are millions of Americans who don't identify as Independents, but are merely fence sitters. They recognize that Trump is insane, a deeply disturbed megalomaniac suffering from stunted emotional development and fascistic tendencies, but they still have yet to recognize how dangerous he is to the country. The demonstrations open those pages for them. The signs and the chanting bring what was once only peripherally noticed, into fuller focus. It connects some of the dots to present a clearer picture. Demonstrations are a teachable moment where people engage with one another. They certainly have been in my life.

A lot of times people’s opinions form on the basis of social relationships or social acceptability over reason or incentives. People who are on the fence but may fear social reprisal for disliking Trump now better understand that they are not alone. The social influence factor is extremely important.

I just find it laughable that any Democrat would be denouncing 'creeping authoritarianism." Democrats literally authored "creeping authoritarianism." They installed a half-wit puppet as a president, lied like rugs to the entire country about his condition, and ran the nation vis a vis a few unelected string pullers. To make matters worse, they pushed all kinds of legislation designed to cripple average Americans and bring the nation to its knees. Their overreach knew no ends. They even used the judicial to persecute any threats and killed babies in Gaza while supporting a heinous regime. But now they want us to believe they're the voice of democracy?? I mean, really, that takes a lot of nerve. LOL!!

Neither of the major parties are of any sincere use to the nation anymore. A two party system is a disaster. Vote independent if you want representation, and if you don't, definitely vote Democrat because that's the party of pure, onerous dictatorship. At least the Republican party airs its dirty laundry in public while it leaves us to fend for ourselves. I guess I prefer that
