Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Fox calls VT for Trump.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

I agree.

Mr. Trump's a marketeer ... especially best at marketing hisself!

I think a fair amount of what he says is contrived PR to fit his purpose at that moment.

You mean he's better at selling himself than he is at selling meat. lol

I think most good salesmen sell themselves first, their product---even meat--- second.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

It's the state of 10,000 lakes--Sen. Mondale--Sen. Humphrey--very liberal DEMs up there.
A state with a history of a real 3rd party--that ignored both sitting Senators to vote for Sanders over Clinton.

It makes sense they would reject cruz and trump.
What I'm waiting on is how many people voted in the competing primaries today .
And they make very good butter & cheese ...

We're always selling ourselves!

Even when we don't know it!

Most important skill we have, I think.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Massachusetts goes for Hillary. So Hillary won 7 and Bernie won 4.

Had a feeling Hillary was gonna win. But still, only by 3 states. Bernie still won 4 states. It's not marginal, and it's not big either, but that's still a good chunky 4! Here I was, pessimistically, not expecting him to win any more than 2 or 3.

Demographics are better for bernie from here on out. Florida.... that's a tough one. Bernie's two demos that are killing him are African Americans and the elderly. So Florida could be difficult. California is a long ways off so plenty of time to make his pitch. Hillary just won Massachusetts by 2.2%. In 2008 she won it by 16% over Obama. Bernie is still looking pretty good here.

I was actually expecting much bigger losses tonight for Bernie overall.

Yes, me too. I actually have a feeling he's going to nail California. We have democrats who were so afraid of Hillary they actually broke ranks with the party to vote for Trump. That is some bitter ****ing spite-voting hatred right there.

It doesn't matter. Bernie killed it tonight. This is really not good for Hillary. It's a war of attrition, and she's not doing at all how she needs to.

Again, for anyone who knows anything about how delegates work, this was a bad night for Hillary. She'll scrape by again on March 15th, but unless she murders Sanders there (and now there's no polling indication that she will), after that it's basically states that favor demographically should Bernie Sanders.

I have a feeling the elites are gonna pull a fast one on us and try and make up some stupid rule having to do with superdelegates. But, then again, I was wrong about Bernie's performance. Whereas I only expected him to win 1 or 2 states, here he sits with 4.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

So right now the delegate count is:

Clinton: 508
Sanders: 295

I'm quite pleased. I really thought it was to be a much bigger win for Hillary tonight.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Virginia between Trump and Rubio, too close to call.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

I'd prefer he win!

So much for that ...

What? He did a good 50% better than expected. There's still a very good chance. If you include only the pledged delegates Sanders is doing a bit more than nipping at her heels.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Fox calls VT for Trump.

And neither Rubio or Cruz were even in the race there. It was close between Trump and Kasich.

Still waiting to see if Trump gets 50% in MA.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

.

He takes me back to my teen-age years in the 1960s and further when I first voted for McGovern.
.

Hey...I voted for that guy, too!
Unfortunately, 4 years into Nixon's "secret plan" to end the war, McGovern was crushed electorally.
Different time, different country.
No way this country would accept that level of American body bags.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Wasn't much polling done for Alaska.

But it will be tight if polling is correct, Cruz may inch out Trump.

Um, what? The only thing that can Bring Hillary to heel is that fact that she's a completely incompetent manager and will probably be out of cash on hand after today. I know that's what happened last time and it allowed Obama to go for the long game and win. That's what Bernie needs to do. Go for the long game and take advantage of Hillary's completely inept management of funding.

Results will start trickling in soon. Their polls are closed.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

Any projected leads on how well Sanders might do in Missouri, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio?

No.
What he needs to do now is go after her e-mails...

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

that would be an interesting read.

And it's my main concern after the first four states.
It's understandable that SC is trending higher GOP and lower DEM from 2008.
It's very concerning that this same pattern occurred in three Obama states--NH, IA, and NV.

It requires going back to the green papers for me and comparing 2008 voter totals with 2016 voter totals.

Well this news from last night should help...

Bernie out fund-raised Hillary in January. And as of last night's reporting, Bernie doubled what he made in January. $42 million haul.

He's running with her, and it's a bit more than "nipping at her heels", but he's not competing in the states with any real African-American votes. I don't see him winning, but I do see him as a valid competitor, and he's earned a seat at the table.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

My own calculation: if Trump gets 50% in MA he'll have gotten about 430 delegates from tonight.

Re: Super Tuesday Live Results –Republican & Democrat

No.

Sen. Sanders doesn't play in the GOP gutter, and he's said exactly this.
He won't be giving GOPs ad material that GOPs are only too happy to give DEMs .

He needs to take back his message. Be more verbose, cast Hillary as the Borg Queen. She's stealing his message, and though I love that it will hurt her in the general, it's helping her now.

I'm explaining this elsewhere in a post, but I agree with you. That's a large chunk of what I meant.
