...turns out to be black himself..

Yet another fake hate crime. Seems like that's all we're getting these days.

In other news: Segregation: An Idea Whose Time Has Come (Again?)

U. Vermont Holds Retreat for Students Who ‘Self Identify’ as White. I mean, equal, but separate.

There have been several demands at various schools to create a blacks only safe space.

Maybe we should just have the races going to separate schools to help everyone feel safe.

If that is what the blacks want there are black only colleges. They chose not to go there. Why?

I just wanted to go on record here by stating I am not, I repeat NOT an aphid.

even though I have vowed to kill them all.

Maybe we should send them to Mexico [and other Latin countries] and keep the illegals? See how safe they feel down there.

.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 ended racial segregation in schools.

I suspect the Republicans would repeal that act in a skinny second, given the opportunity.

Are "fake hate" crimes a epidemic in this country or something?

More evidence that we need to monitor campuses and make sure they follow conservative principles!

They think these cases are evidence so little racism really exists "them people " have to make it up. Well except the racism against old white guys...

I don't know if it is or not, but given the ease of social media and the inherent anonymity behind it (or perceived anyway, it seems like Yik Yak isn't so anonymous after all) that people could turn to it in efforts to either try to make it seem like a problem is bigger to give "legitimacy" to grievances, or to inflame already inflamed emotions and push some aggregate system over the edge.

Who knows though, I don' know if at this point it is an "epidemic" of sorts.

Why would you say that?

Is it the Republicans calling for segregation?

If so can you please point out where you saw that?

There are words, then there are actions. It seems the Republicans are still pretty big on voter requirments that effect one race more than another. Then there is same sex marriage...no, i think if the truth be told the repubs just aint too crazy about that whole civil rights thingy. Coruse they wont say it in mixed company, but their actions do.

It was Republicans who passed all the Civil Rights laws going back to 1865 and a majority of whom voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Southern Democrats were in favor of segregation, in favor of slavery before that, in favor of Jim Crow laws, and blocked repeated efforts to end lynching. And only a small number of them switched parties, so don't even bring that up.

  • Civil Rights Act of 1866, 14 Stat. 27-30, enacted April 9, 1866, was the first United States federal law to define US citizenship and affirm that all citizens are equally protected by the law.
  • 1875: Congress passes a law guaranteeing African Americans equal rights in transportation, restaurant/inns, theaters and on juries.
  • The Civil Rights Act of 1957, Pub.L. 85–315, 71 Stat. 634, enacted September 9, 1957, primarily a voting rights bill, was the first civil rights legislation passed by Congress in the United States since the 1866 and 1875 Acts.
  • The Civil Rights Act of 1960 (Pub.L. 86–449, 74 Stat. 89, enacted May 6, 1960) was a United States federal law that established federal inspection of local voter registration polls and introduced penalties for anyone who obstructed someone's attempt to register to vote

Yea great. This is 2015.

That voter ID affects one race more than another is a lie. That voter fraud is not a problem is a lie.

More blacks are against same sex marriage than white Republicans.

And Democrats have ever been the same. Still race mongers and race dividers.

Really? Tell me again why so few blacks vote Republican.

Is it Republicans or is it crazy college students that want segregation?

I would be willing to bet the crazy college students are not Republicans.

 we seem to be seeing a trend of questionable or outright false Hate Crime style claims, yes. People are angry and upset, are told that they are righteous if they are angry and upset, but need something to be angry and upset about. So they project the worst of intentions, motives, and beliefs onto others, and then engage in (or claim to have witnessed) activities designed to justify their anger.

Poor protesters. Society just isn't as racist as they want it to be, and it denies them the ability to pose as they want to.
