I notice that above my avatar is listed "Student."

Is this related to my amount of time on the forum or did I inadvertantly list myself that way and not see how to change it?

Toward the top of the forum there is something called "Forum Actions,"which is near the "Spy" tab above. When "Forum Actions" is selected, you can "Edit profile." Once you are in the profile editor, you can create a "custom user title." Mine, for instance was changed to "Domestic Policy Neocon."

It has to do with how many posts you have made. You have over 150 posts so now you're a 'Student', once you get over 300 you'll be an 'Adviser'. And so on.

If you'll click on FAQ (At the top of the page, under What's New?), then find Titles on the page that opens up and click on that you'll see how it works.

We took a vote. You can find it in the Polls forum. You should be glad you were voted "Student." You should see what we voted some people.

TY, I thought so. Just did not want to mislead anyone by that. Now that I know I will not get so upset about it.

I do not see the "custome user title" option, but Maggie has convinced me that I should accept Student. It could be worse.

I was tempted to change my title to "Best DP Member" and tell him titles are automatic. But it seemed like too much work.

I think I read that you can add to this categorization once you have reached a certain amount of posts

I voluntarily changed my title to Student. I find labeling myself accurately preferable to being an elitist bitch and accepting being entitled Professor.

I believe in truth in advertising also.

It doesn't have anything to do with being a "student" or a "professor." It only has to do with your post counts.
