You'll be okay here once you identify those whose tolerance for opinions they don't agree with becomes confrontational quickly.
You'll recognize which ones they are.
Probably get a good start on that on this very thread.

2. China has just crushed speech freedom in Hong Kong. Pro-democracy journalists are now in jail.

3. Until the Internet, we common folks could blow off steam only with friends and family. Or an occasional letter to a newspaper or one minute on talk radio.

4. The Internet was touted as a way for us common folks to express ourselves. Some optimists predicted that it would bring democracy to China!

5. Today the bigger message boards (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) ban certain opinions; smaller boards also have their limits.

6. Most Americans (90%? 95%?) do NOT blow off steam on the Internet. They express their opinions only at the ballot box.

I was here many years ago, like, around 2011.
I came back SPECIFICALLY because YouTube is restrictive.
I've posted horrible things on YouTube THAT DO NOT get deleted.... I've posted very calm and non inflammatory things that HAVE got deleted.

I just joined here under a new name, so, I'm curious to see how things go.

I think you should have separated #1 into separate parts.
(Edit): Covid and the 2020 election may have interconnected parts, but they definitely warrant their own categories.

Trump is very supportive of conventional responses to Covid: masks, vaccines, and boosters.
