Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls show

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

Good for him, but if I were him I'd have waited another year and collected my last check before spouting off. I like Kirk Cameron. I'm sad to see the anti religous folks around here pounce upon him and other Christian followers.

Why? He's being a huge hypocrite.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

Oh, I doubt very much there's any religion in the show. I meant a religious angle for disliking the show; as opposed to the much more straightforward reason: it sucks.

Ahh gotcha. I'm surprised it's as popular as it is... Especially after so long.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

This is kind of like when Isaac Hayes went on a rant about South Park after an episode mocking Scientology. I wonder when he started realizing this show went against his morals. Was it before or after he signed his last multimillion dollar contract?

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I don't know the guy and I don't watch the show, so I got no dog in this fight.

The following is pure speculation...

Maybe he got into this thinking it wouldn't be so bad, and thinking that compromising his values "a little" would be worth such a huge payday. He wouldn't be the first person, or the ten millionth, or the billionth, seduced into doing something questionable for large sums of money.

Maybe, just maybe... instead of being a hypocrite entirely, it got to the point where he realized that the money was NOT worth the compromise of his principles... but he was stuck with a contract and would be in big trouble if he broke it... so he's trying, now after realizing he made a mistake, to begin taking steps to correct his mistake as best he knows how... for starters by telling people they should not watch the show.

Oh and BTW, he probably better keep those 350k paychecks, since after this he will probably never get any good paying jobs in Hollywood ever again...

Now, I don't know where the truth lies here... as I said I don't know the guy. Maybe he is just a big hypocrite... I'm just suggesting an alternative scenario that takes human nature into account and doesn't necessarily cast this in the worst possible light as others are doing.

Want to talk about hypocrisy? A lot of the people putting this guy down the hardest would EAGERLY sell out for a lot less than he is making... maybe some of it is jealousy. Maybe some are pissed off that they didn't hold out for more money when they sold the Devil their soul.

In any case I ain't losing any sleep over it.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

Was. It WAS funny as hell....about 8 years ago.

Hasn't been funny for a loooooooooooong time.
just like jay leno.....he is just coasting.

Angus T. Jones is 19 and started the show when he was a little kid. Up to now his parents were probably signing his contracts. He's grown up now and making decisions for himself. Good for him. BTW Jon Cryer is the glue that held that show together, but for him giving legitimacy to the show it wouldn't have lasted a season.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

More like he got into it when he was about eight and apparently his values have changed as he grew up.

I like the show because when it portrays people being genuinely awful, it doesn't pull any punches about the fact that they're awful people. Even Charlie's knack for always coming out on top is portrayed as a man always getting away with something, rather than as any kind of just reward. And there are no genuinely good people on the show to feel bad about.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

My husband still watches that dumb show, but I haven't watched it since about the third/fourth season, when it really started going downhill. When it first came out it was absolutely hilarious, and Jon Cryer was the jewel in the crown... always has been. Eventually it became a tired caracature of itself, and bored me senseless.

That said, the kid is behaving like a royal ass. A class act would have just finished out his contract, then hit the road with his God-and-Jesus show. Unfortunately, he's taking a page out of Uncle Charlie's "look at me, look at me, woo-hoo, look at ME" book. So yeah, I'm looking at him, and I see a blatantly more-pious-than-you, God-loves-me-not-them bible-beating hypocrite. No loss.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I'll believe he is totally digusted by the show's filth when he refuses to takes residuals from reruns..... oh well.

I'm not a Christian, nor am I religious, but I feel like someone needs to defend them both.

I find the constant insulting and/or condescension toward God, religion and people of faith, extremely disrespectful. Especially when most often, it comes from the very people who get bent out of shape when someone dares to call a suicide bomber an Islamic or Muslim terrorist, and want people who make YouTube videos critical of radical Islam thrown in prison.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

He doesnt have to urge me...Ive never watched it...not once.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

He's gonna lose his nice paycheck over his silly beliefs.
He's made enough money, I think. Now it's time to follow his convictions.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I agree with him. I had to take my then 4 (or 5) year old daughter to the ER late at night, and they had the TV set to this show. I can't recall exactly which episode it was, but it made me a bit uncomfortable stting there with my daughter having to watch it.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I'm guessing his contract didn't get talked about in any production meetings for a possible 2014 season.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

Not a very good sales pitch for the program, but I agree, the show is obnoxious with the sexuality.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I love seeing people rock the Hollywood establishment, especially fellow Christians.

The only good shows on the big 4 are Shark Tank and Blue Bloods.

Undercover Boss?

I agree that the big networks generally suck in terms of content to watch.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I think he just doesn't like working with Ashton - how long has the show been going on? He's been on it for like 6 years or some ****. . . He's probably just sick of doing the same damned thing over and over.

Yeah, that is good, though I forgot about it.

"What would you do?" had potential until every episode had to do with homosexuals in public.

I don't quite know what you mean by that. If it had somehow trivialized homosexuality in a manner that would be offensive to homosexuals, I suppose I could get the annoyance of the viewer. But if it was merely the act of having homosexuals in public, I don't see the fuss.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but gays are one of the more frequent subjects on the program. Not that it is a bad thing.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

I'm not a huge fan of sitcoms in general, but the few scenes I have seen from this show were some of the worst comedy I have ever watched.. The content doesn't offend me. The writing is just plain bad.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

This guy started the show as a young kid so I doubt his views were the same back then.

It is more likely he adopted his views recently and now he is speaking out.

He knew what the show was about when he signed his last contract so there is that.

Who knows what he is doing. Time will tell.

Re: Star of 'Two and a Half Men' Angus T. Jones urges fans to stop watching, calls sh

Hmm - I wonder just what his parents were thinking when they said 'sure' - he was underaged in the beginning.
