My mom is a tall girl, and so am I. If you asked me, I would say that I mostly like being tall. I was teased some as a kid, but as an adult, being tall kind of rocks.

I have been mostly familiar with the song "She's got legs" by ZZ Top. The type of music it is, is not really my style. Somebody recently told me to listen to "Long Cool Woman" by The Hollies. I never heard of them, but I really like this song... :2razz:

Now I want to hear more songs.

Does anybody else know any songs about tall women?

Hey SheWolf, we found something we agree on. I like the song too, and I like the Hollies. :)

What are some of their other songs that are good?

She's a big girl, she's standing six foot three

Hear the one about Susan, some say she's just a tease
In a camisole she's six feet tall, she'll knock you to your knees

My favorite "tall woman" song.

I like their rendition of "He Ain't Heavy, He's my Brother". And some of my favorites off the top of my head are "The Air That i Breathe", and "Carrie Anne". But they have a pretty impressive song list of hits.

Edit: I just saw that ttwtt had posted a couple of those. :)

My favorite "tall woman" song.

Somebody ruined the lyrics. Brazilian woman aren't tall. Here are the REAL lyrics:

Olha que coisa mais linda
Mais cheia de graça
É ela menina
Que vem e que passa
Num doce balanço
A caminho do mar
Moça do corpo dourado
Do sol de Ipanema
O seu balançado
É mais que um poema
É a coisa mais linda
Que eu já vi passar
Ah! porque estou tão sozinho?
Ah! porque tudo é tão triste?
Ah! a beleza que existe
A beleza que não é só minha
Que também passa sozinha
Ah! Se ela soubesse
Que quando ela passa
O mundo sorrindo
Se enche de graça
E fica mais lindo
Por causa do amor
Lyrics found <a href="https://www.elyrics.net/read/t/tom-jobim-lyrics/garota-de-ipanema-lyrics.html">here</a>

Look how beautiful
How totally cute
the girl
who comes and who passes
gently swaying
on her way to the sea
Girl with the golden body
From the sun of Ipanema
Your rhythm
is more than a poem
its the most beautiful thing I have seen.
Ah! why am I so lonely
Ah! Why is everything so sad
Ah! the beauty that exists
the beauty that just for me
that also passes alone
Ah if she only knew
that when she passes
the smiling world
fills with her grace
and becomes more lovely
Because of love

That "somebody" is Norman Gimbel

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Gimbel

This is the blurb from the video explaining it:

Beautifully realized live version of the classic Brazilian song by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes - with English lyrics written by Norman Gimbel for Astrud's husband João's album with Stan Getz in 1963. Astrud was recruited to sing the English lyrics at the recording session - and the single's popularity thrust her into the spotlight even though she wasn't a trained singer. This is her first appearance on US television.

Even though I don't understand Spanish, I do like the Spanish lyric version.

btw, there are many famous tall Brazilian women. Here are some: Top-27 Most Beautiful Brazilian Women. Photo Gallery

The original is in Portuguese. If you walk around São Paulo, Rio, Fortaleza, Manaus, Belem, Recife, Belo Horizonte you will see that the vast majority of the women are petite. In fact, women with a larger stature are thought to be lesbians. Look up the word "Sapatão".

Harry Nilsson.

It had to be you.

It had to be you, it had to be you
I wandered around, and finally found
The somebody who
Could make me be true,
And could make me be blue
And even be glad, just to be sad
Thinking of you.
Some others I've seen, it had to be me
I'm five foot ten, a man among men
And you're seven two
But all your faults
You I adore,
When you stand up
Your hands touch the floor,
It had to be me, unlucky me
It had to be me.

It's not very complimentary about her vertically challenged partner!

Is 50 feet tall enough? :lamo
