Some teachers encourage students to become homosexual

I can only speak for myself. Maybe truthseeker is different. When I was in school my mind was on girls. There was no chance I wanted anything to do with guys. No temptation, no difficult decision.

Truthseeker may have been different. Maybe he was sexually confused, maybe he still is.

I've raised this point multiple times. The only logical way these conservatives could possibly think sexual orientation is fluid, is if they are bi-sexual.
Also, empirical evidence suggests that many homophobes are actually closeted gays themselves, albeit very confused closeted gays.

I think a lot of homophobia and transphobia is rooted in people getting sexually aroused and being upset about it.

I mean, personally I think sexuality/gender can be fluid in the same way that taste is fluid. You can totally hate Olives when you are young love them when you are older. I think someone can legitimately go from gay to straight to gay in their attraction throughout their life. I just don't think someone can be convinced to be gay anymore you can convince a child to like Olives.

I don't know about convinced in terms of purely through reason, (maybe you could argue someone into experimenting), however, socialization and norms are very powerful in this area.

And I would argue that those who flip their sexual orientation later in life have always been bisexual.
