Deegan said:She was shouted down until she could not continue her speech, that is how her free speech was interupted. It is well known that you don't go to a speech, if all you are going to do is disrupt it, that's not free speech, it's talking out of turn. This was not their time to talk, so it's irrelevant what their reaction was. They can become popular, and do the things that allow them the pulpit, until then, they need to be quiet, and give the speaker her time. This is a college, thet place where free speech is supposed to be an all important right, they showed their hypocrisy, that is all.
Gilluin said:Wasn't the majority speaking its mind when she got shouted down? I thought the latest conservate, right side mantra was that the majority should get to make the rules.
Deegan said:The majority is not always right, history has shown that, but sometimes, majority does rule, it has to, or nothing gets done. In this case, these rude folks should have stayed home, they chose to come there, only to disrupt the speaker, and those who came to hear her. This is wrong, and it's not the appropriate time, or place, for their views, or childish antics. Shouting, you suck, you suck, this is far from constructive rebuttal, it's child's play, and not what I expect from intelligent young people, at one of our better colleges.
Gilluin said:So if I understand you correctly, conservates only believe in majority rule on issues that they favor? And dislike majority rule when the majority is liberal?

What you're failing to do is make the distinction between violating her freedom of speech and behaving inappropriately at a school function. These are students, they have no police powers, and thus they cannot deprive her of her freedom of speech. I agree that they acted in a way that is inappropriate, but it is in no way hypocritical (except for those wacky liberals who called this same **** when the whole Dixie Chicks thing went down, those people are the definition of hypocritical). I personally think if they wanted to make an ass of her, they could've been more clever about it. For example, last year William Kristol gave a speech at my school for the young republicans, so my buddy snuck in, and at question time he just kept asking questions about the Iran contra (and he damn near got lynched!). But also, if your speaking in front of an audience of mixed political beliefs, and you're saying things that are intended to **** off liberals (and don't you dare claim that that's not what Ann Coulter intends to do, cause I have seen her speak many times and she has NEVER said anything of merit, she is a public figure SOLELY to **** off liberals), you have to expect to get booed. You can't get all pissed off when you know there's a cause and effect relationship, and then you do the cause and the effect happens, that's
just ridiculous.

The incident at UConn reiterates how radical the left really is, and it gives Ann even more national exposure! I'm sure Ann is laughing all the way to the bank with the extra press she received, not to mention it'll probably land her a few more Cable News appearances to talk about the fools at UConn.
The best part is watching the libs get their panties in a twist over her, if she's such a skank and a lier, why are the libs putting so much effort into trying to discredit and harass her?
Hoot said:The same reason those on the right try to harass and discredit Michael Moore.
I really had nothing against the woman until I saw Peter Barnes kick her ass in a debate and I realized what an airhead she actually is.
lol, I was just waiting for you to drop a steamer like this!tr1414 said:I bet all you libs crying about Ms. Coulter never read one of her books. So much of open minds.

Actually tr1414 asked if you've ever read one of her books, not every book.galenrox said:lol, I was just waiting for you to drop a steamer like this!
What, so if we don't read every book written by a conservative author we're not open minded?
Actually, I always believed the things she said and wrote even before she said and wrote them.Caine said:Because ignorant [edit][edit] scum like you actually believe the [edit] that comes out of her mouth and or her mind......

Fine, then what's good for the goose is good for the gander
Have you read any Howard Zinn lately? How about Thomas Frank? William S Burroughs? Noam Chomsky?
lol, but no, you should feel good, I mean, considering you're retarded, the fact that you've even figured out how to type is an amazing achievement, good for you!

galenrox said:lol, whatever you say you ****ing drunkard!!!
**** no I don't read Chomsky, I don't like to read much as is, and so when I do read I tend to read more conservative books so I can better understand those I disagree with.
Yeah, liberals who write books tend to be a lot like Coulter, just stupid bullshit.Deegan said:Ahhhh, yes, that is what I do as well, and I can say I have yet to be impressed, much less converted.
Damn you, you had to remind me.....my aching f**king head.:3oops:

wouldn't be suprised. If she wants even a shot at winning, she'd better choose a really liberal district with a retiring liberal congressman.vergiss said:I'd bet $100 she's had at least two abortions and a lesbian affair.
