How unfortunate that a place that promotes nothing but the exchange of ideas, a noble notion, is the subject of such stupidity.
 
Still happening, albeit less severely and less frequently. Sometimes, I also notice some weirdness in the page display as the lengthy delay is happening. You may have to zoom in, but, ie,



"later_today_at_x" in place of the thread creation date/time, and in place of the timing of the most recent post. Or something like this (no icons for last poster):



Other times I'll open a thread in a new tab and it stays blank for a while, then I get a connection time-out message. Sporadic. ::

To be fair, an awful lot of the exchanged ideas are themselves quite stupid.

Yes… well, this is the US of A and here, sometimes unfortunately, we have a Constitutional right to be stupid.

I mean look where we’ve deliberately, by choice, placed ourselves over the last decade, making a bad situation worse.

We have an obvious majority. The working and middle economic classes, clearly aligned in their mutual common concerns, fractionalized into subsets at unnatural angles given their common concerns, allowing a much smaller minority to purchase their government out from under them and run this nation against the best interests of that vastly superior majority.

All that is required to prevent it is that fractionalized majority realizing they have these common concerns and agreed to come together, act in concert, and decide to decide on any points of difference AFTER they addressed their common cause regarding this minority working against their best interests. Yet they remain fractured, tribal, stupidly ingrained in acting against their own best interests.

There was a time, in this same nation, when well to do farmers, merchants, trades folk came together with the working class and poor to fight a revolution in common cause.

We aren’t that kind of discerning any longer.

Still hincky. Alerts takes a long time to load and navigating between pages takes longer than normal.
 
The site is consistently performing well at home, to my experience and use patterns.

Site has inconsistent performance when accessing at the office. Pages load fast when they do, other times get the 'page failed to load' error page. Retries in a few minutes after this then load fast.

But I have no idea all the content filters, protections, firewalls that the networking team have put into place, so I've discounted those issues. Might be that the office Internet connection is being attacked, I would never know.
 
Still loading alerts very slowly. Also sign in takes a while. Sometimes a page loads with all avatars missing, just white boxes.
 
At the office now, and it seems that whatever was ailing the site before has been cleared up.
Not a single missing page this morning, so far.

I’m still experiencing problems.
 
Windows 11, FireFox.

Kinda bouncy getting in but once everything gets loaded it smooths out.
 
1500+ "guests" again. The attack is back.
 
Still slow.
 
Some issue logging in. Slow to pull up sign in window. Fill in user name, then when I go to enter the password , the user name disappears.
Reenter user Id, then password and can log in.

Been doing this for a few days.

Windows 11, Edge.
