And the chaotic incompetent trump saga continues.

New York (CNN Business)In an extraordinary exchange on Friday, President Donald Trump viciously attacked an NBC News reporter who asked what his message would be to Americans who are frightened by the coronavirus pandemic that is spreading across the country.

The exchange, which occurred at the White House's daily coronavirus task force briefing, began when NBC News reporter Peter Alexander asked Trump whether he was giving Americans "false hope" by touting unproven coronavirus drugs.

Toward the end of the exchange, Alexander cited the latest pandemic statistics showing thousands of Americans are now infected and millions are scared.
Alexander asked, "What do you say to Americans who are scared?"

Trump, shaking his head, ripped into Alexander in response.
"I say that you are a terrible reporter," Trump replied. "That's what I say."
The President proceeded to launch into an extended rant against Alexander, saying he asked a "nasty question" and assailing NBC and its parent company, Comcast.
"You're doing sensationalism," Trump charged. "And the same with NBC and Comcast. I don't call it Comcast. I call it 'Con-Cast.'"

"Let me just tell you something," Trump added. "That's really bad reporting. And you ought to get back to reporting instead of sensationalism."

Moments later, Kaitlan Collins, a White House correspondent for CNN, asked Trump if it was appropriate to embark on tirades against members of the news media during a public health crisis.

"You see yourself as a wartime President right now, leading the country through a pandemic that we are experiencing," Collins noted. "Do you think going off on Peter, going off on a network is appropriate when the country is going through something like this?"

Trump defended his verbal assault on Alexander, saying he's "not a good journalist" and launching into another rant against him

1. A non-idiotic answer to the reporter's question : The best minds in science in both the public and private sectors are on this, and the federal government is working with state and local governments in real time to coordinate and edit the response to the crisis as conditions change. That's the generic, feel good answer that we would expect from an adult president who is clueless but not as IQless as 45.

2. No legitimate news organizations should be covering this idiot's word salad spewing sessions.

I've seen the exchange on MSNBC, I'm sure they'll be replaying it a few times today. Eventually, Mike Pence was asked the exact same question and gave a more appropriate response.

The contrast between Trump and Pense is amazing.

If aliens showed up and had to guess which was president, Trump would be out in the cold.

...Trump if it was appropriate to embark on tirades against members of the news media during a public health crisis.

So he excuses himself now, because he's a "war time" president. :lamo

Since when did he need a war to act like an ass, berating our free press who asks questions he doesn't like answering? He started attacking our free press on day one. How many people attended his inauguration?

And, "leading the country"? :lamo the only thing he knows how to lead is a reality show...

Absolutely disgusting that Trump and the Trumpists are using this to attack "the left" and "the media". The media has a duty to let us know what's going on, not to cover for Trump's months of lying to try to prop up the economy. But also absolutely expected.

The ugliness is the point.

I find that this tweet nicely sums up that sniveling, cringing little *****.

Any bets on how long it will take for a pro-Trumper to arrive to tell us that Trump was right and the mean reporter shouldn't have picked on him like that?

Attacking the nation's enemies is the job of any wartime President.

The ugliness is the point.

It excuses Trumpers' own ignorance, hate and incompetence. Excusing Trump's excuses their own. Trump is living the Truther's dream. He tells all the professionals they're idiots and declares nonsense and otherwise behaves insane and claims the professionals praise him. He promised he'd make Alex Jones proud. He has. He kept one campaign promise.

The difference between Trump and Pence is that Trump won't allow bull**** attempts to set up for a soundbite. Trump will slap that attempt down like he did here.

I listen to the experts, then change the channel.

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely hate Trump with every fiber of my soul but my hate is mostly because I hate ignorance, incompetence, self-imposed blindness, egocentricity, and arrogance and Trump is all of that. Adding to that, he has no morals, ethics, principles or humanity.

Simply stated, he is the definition of the worst in a human being. He does not represent respect, honor, allegiance, loyalty, competence, intelligence, caring, love, honesty or responsibility.

This is what the United States has represented since we became a free nation and it is what I was taught by my parents to be. It is also everything that God represents. Trump is everything the Devil represents.

For all of you that support Trump: Support him all you want but the reality is that the ONLY thing Trump represents to you is money and greed. If that is what you personally represent, then continue to support him, which in turn will let us know who you are. If you support any of the other things I stated above (the good qualities in a person), then once in your life stand up and say so and push this despicable, vile, and loathsome man aside and prove to God that you are worth being alive.

You must be joking, right?

Trump actually set himself up for a soundbite here instead of just saying a couple of reassuring words like any half assed competent leader would.

Best way to answer a question when you are a complete imbecile and do not have a clue- Slap it down!

You're missing some context. Alexander was asking Trump if he believed it was appropriate to express a positive outlook on the situation. Alexander was suggesting that Trump was offering "false hope". The question was pure assholery and I'm please as punch that Trump took him to the woodshed over it.

Trump gave his opinion. That NBC puke tried to work it to his advantage. Trump slapped him upside the head.

Read trump's words below, word salad. Was trump doing stand up comedy? Abbot and Costello- Who's on first? Left field

But, this is all about Alexander.

"And I think it's going to be very exciting. I think it could be a game changer. And maybe not. Maybe not, but I think it could be, based on what I see, it could be a game changer. Very powerful, they’re very powerful," he said.

They know that the answer is purely racist when Trump says it. ;)

trump’s a 21st century schizoid man. King Crimson was prophetic. He’s Nixon on steroids when it comes to his enemy’s list. The only thing more sickening than trump are those who defend his insane word salad. Oh, and the DJIA has lost 500 points in the last half hour.
