Should we have a 'WHITE' history month?

I know there is an all black university called Howard (whites need not apply), and a Martin Luther King day as opposed to a Lincoln's birthday holiday--as it is now lumped into presidents day where we get to honor such stalwarts like Bill Clinton (our first black president) and Jimmy Carter, but since the history of our white forefathers is being revised, denied, negated and spat upon--shouldn't we as American loving patriots consider promoting an all-WHITE National Pride month or year? I love my country too much to just sit back idly and let these 3rd world cultures take over the limelight.

I think what the Kid wants is for there to be an actual month labeled "White History Month". Accomplishments by our white forefathers are celebrated year around but I think he wants them to be grouped up and then put a big sticker on them that says "All white history".

Yeah I think there is a middle ground here.... 1069 yeah our forefathers dont exacly have a clean bill of health when it comes to history however thats not what people celebrate when they celebrate their history. You celebrate the accomplishments not the bad parts.

By the way I don't see a need for white history month. I'd rather see history taught in a way that was thorough and complete enough that all of history were adequately covered. After all most kids are in school for at least apx 12 years. If we stop wasting so much time inflating egos and producing self righteous morons we'd have plenty of time for teaching history. History should be taught as it unfolded, not chopped up, segmented, and color sorted.

As history is constantly a work in the making, I shudder to think how history will reflect on today's Black culture. :shock:

I wonder how the tele-politico-race-baiting preachers, ie: Jackson, Sharpton will be remembered?

I wonder if their mega-talented actors and actresses will be remembered as anything other than another singing, dancing Amos or Andy?

I wonder if their superstar athletes will be remembered individually, at all? Could we consider their athletic abilities (for which they are rewarded generously for) as contributions to society other than create the oppertunity to market bling-bling?

Where are the Booker T. Washingtons? Where are the MLK's?

Our black brethren have much history to be very proud of....for now. In 50 years, I'm not so sure. The history they are making today, as a whole, is not that impressive. It's gonna take a lot of make-up to turn it into a positive thing. But I'm sure that can be done as well. :roll:

What i dont like about this whole kinda thing is its just abunch of crap this idea that people "own" historical people.Black people dont own martin luther king and white people dont own abraham lincoln.People like this are good to learn from but they dont reflect anything about you personnelly.

A white history month would be no more relivent to me than black history month its about people not color slavery stands testament to how human beings can behave in a terrible way it doesent prove that white people are evil.

You cannot benefit children by sheltering them from the truth. You might soften its impact a little when they're younger... but there's no excuse for teaching them falsehoods or overlooking the mistakes of the past.
