Should having a child require a course to complete on parenting and a psychological evaluation?

Should having a child require a course to complete on parenting and a psychological evaluation?

  • I am too stupid to understand how many lives are ruined by allowing twits to have children.

so i ask, why should prospects have a child in the midst of such uncertainty
that child only makes a difficult situation worse
hell of a situation for a newborn to enter the world within

It goes along with that lack of thinking about tomorrow.

So then the child maybe suffers, because the parents are denied gov services.

Maybe a less than ideal consequence.
actually, because child services is now engaged, the situation would be monitored
hopefully, the unlicensed birth parents will thrive without government assistance and do well
but if they do not, child services would initiate action to terminate parental rights

It goes along with that lack of thinking about tomorrow.
as i see it, if the parent has a difficult time navigating the world for themselves as an adult, then they are not in a position to be a good parent to a new born

The class is just part of the argument... identifying criminals, low IQ, non-B Average students, etc is the real goal. Passing the class would be relatively easy... and it would not be anything not universal like, don't hit your kids. That should be pretty easy to understand and answer, right?

No need for your personal insults... if you are that triggered that easily and can not post maturely then you can leave.
Bordering on fascism, if not already there.

No argument. But that same lack of forethought tends to lead to unintended pregnancy.

Really, why not?
You said it was insane... make an argument as to why instead of this weak debating where you ask me to do the work for you.

why not weed out the problems before they become a problem? Look how many tweeker couples have kids.

How to weigh the cons and benefits?
I suggest we do the Jew test. Set up the same scenario, but change parenting to something else, and see if it suddenly seems unfair.

Right to be a parent.
- Today parents have to actively do something in order to lose the right to their kids.
- However, there are may idiot parents that are not caught, and the potential for harm to children is huge.
- So why not implement a right to parent test for everybody to see if they are worthy of parenthood?
- Potential for abuse: High. People are afraid to lose their children, so the potential for pressuring them would be high, and those in power would not be impacted.

Lets take voting.
- Today you have to actively have been an idiot in order to lose your right to vote.
- However, lots of idiots vote, and the potential for harm to society is huge.
- So why not implement an idiot test for everybody to see if they are worthy of voting?
- Potential for abuse: High. People are afraid to lose their democratic influence, so the potential for pressuring them would be high, and those in power would not be impacted.

And the right to -not- be a parent.
- Today everybody has the right to bodily integrity, including abortions. Present Supreme Court controversies aside, this right cannot be taken away.
- However, inevitably some abortions are performed that were mistaken (mistaken medical diagnosis, post ex facto regret, etc.).
- So why not implement a right to abortion test for all women, to see if they worthy to decide if they want an abortion?
- Potential for abuse: High. People are afraid to be settled with children they do not want, so the potential for pressuring them would be high, and those in power would probably benefit from higher birth rates.

And for good measure something where pre-approval has already been implemented.
- Today you do not automatically have the right to drive.
- Lots of bad drivers out there, and the potential for causing injuries and deaths is high.
- So why not keep the driver test to weed out bad drivers?
- Potential for abuse: Low. Many people can do without their own vehicle, so the potential for pressuring them would not be high, and those in power also need taxpayers to be able to commute efficiently.

I suppose I could add another parameter for how frequently rights are lost unjustly and how it impacts society, but that would probably derail the discussion completely, so I'll leave that out.

I'm interested in how you come up with the questions that you do. They seem to originate from a dark place.
It is totally insane to expect that people are going to be voluntarily sterilized before passing a parenting test imagined by an insane person. Successful parenting is not measured in how much money tyhe parents have, in fact many people who have done important things came from humble beginnings, while many silver spoon babies grew up to be detrimental to society. Your plan is ****ing insane & cold. I was hoping you could defend it's sanity in a meaningful way. But you call defending it's sanity, work. I get that.

Many bad drivers evolve bad habits after passing the Driving test. It's not that they didn't learn correct driving protocol in order to pass the test. Their skills devolve with daily use, or rather they are overly confident in their skills yet take shortcuts using rules of the road more as guidelines.

A very strange post, to be honest.

Should having a child require a course to complete on parenting and a psychological evaluation?

Why or why not? People need to pass a course and test to get a drivers license and need a fishing license... of course, any inbred alcoholic criminal that murdered twelve people and raped a child that served their sentence and was freed but has an IQ 0f 50 can have a kid with their high school dropout girlfriend... great society. Loves life. Loves equality. Loves children.

In order to that wouldn't it require the people be tested prior to having sex?

Maybe schools should re-institute "Home Economics"... (FOR FEMALES AND MALES) which can deal with responsibilities of raising a child, the economics it takes, the time and focus it takes and all that goes into how it will impact and change ones life.

These things are important for young people to know. It can be a very strong force of information that can help people understand the responsibilities of their acts, as well as help them understand there is far more to making relationships, than just the glee of young love, that can help them understand the broad reaching realities that sexual acts can lead to when it comes to 'pregancy and raising a child.

We can't continue to expect young people to think "sex don't exist",.... when they know very well it exist and they know what puberty is, and they know the nature of self arousal that comes with puberty. What they don't know is the responsibilites that comes with relationship, the work that it takes to build understanding, and what it takes to understand the scope of responsibilities when young love leads to pregancy, raising a child, and the responsibilities and necessity of being skill trained for employment and the legal age that is required to get a full time job. The legal age to get and sign contracts for credit.
How to manage many things.

We can't assume Parents Teach This... because as a Fact We have WIDE SPREAD POVERTY in America. It's been that way since the beginning of America, and the best way to change it is, to re-focus the efforts on "Educating Young People on Home Economics and Managing, with and without children.

Some young people think "babies are a novelty"... until Responsibility Overwhelms them. some thing having a baby will instantly make them respected as an Adult, when there is much more to being an Adult that expecting a baby to instantly confer the understanding that one needs to raise a child and make a home.
