The Police Department was investigating gunfire aimed at two uniformed officers in Brooklyn around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The department said no one was injured, and it was not clear how many shots were fired.
The Sergeants Benevolent Association said on Facebook that the two officers were on a foot patrol at Ditmas Avenue and East 23rd Street in the Flatbush-Ditmas Park area when a dark sedan with tinted windows slowly approached them, occupants “made a statement about getting them” and then opened fire.
The association said four men were in the vehicle. It was later found abandoned elsewhere in Brooklyn. No arrests had been made.
