Security Alert – Embassy Kabul, Afghanistan (August 21, 2021)

Yep, something that Trump had called being stupid, yet did it himself. Somehow, that was one Trump policy that Biden decided not to reverse.
Because Biden has wanted us to get out of Afghanistan for a decade and was determined to do it. But yes Trump set a trap for him with that agreement and short of a major redeployment there was little he could do about it. The one term mistake gloated about the predicament he put Biden in only a month ago.

As Biden is finding out....Maybe, just maybe we will learn this time. We are finally ending the 911 era and that is a good thing.

Nope, the resulting federal government expansion will never be reversed.

You just don't want to admit that this is the one term mistakes plan all along. He set a trap for Biden and Biden could care less. He promised to get us out and that is what he is doing. Mr. One and done did not have the balls to do it and that is the truth.
Set a TRAP for Biden?? Are you really willing to go that far to spin the truth?? Are you willing to excuse Biden no matter what he does, Igman?? Because I suspect you're about to be in that position. Thanks!!

How was he going to go about this pull out? Seems to me he thought that blowing up bases while our soldiers are still in the country was a brilliant idea....
Stay on track. Biden is being widely ridiculed on this even by your tribe.

That is always what Republicans do so maybe now that they are gone we can do better.

Sure, since the party for a more limited (smaller?) federal government now has a tiny congressional majority. ;)

On the other hand, the number of Democrats frantically trying to turn a blind eye to what the Afghans are going through, or outright demonizing them, is pathetic.

When did you start crying for the Muslims?

The hypocrisy is beyond all prior hypocrisy.

Trumpism is the nastiest, dirtiest, most amoral political movement this country has ever endured.

Maybe this is the justification needed to send our troops outside the wire into the city. Biden is in a dangerous position in that he is clearly not calling the shots. And if he is, then he should resign.
Dream on.

Something we NEVER saw Fox did no matter how traitorous Trump acted.

That my friend is the differance between a new network and a propaganda outlet.

not really...not now that people have a complete view of what went down....and what went down was Trump releasing 5,000 Taliban fighters...so by all means lets investigate why he did that....I don't mind investigating the pull out but I damn sure want to know why in the hell he thought that his pig headed idea to release terrorists was a good one...and why when he saw that these terrorists were making ground in Afghanistan that he continued to pull out troops....someone needs to check his bank account, because something stinks in Mar a Lago and it isn't the water.

what the Afghans are going through

What about the people in Honduras? When have you been so moved for the people there?
How about the people sufferings under a Trump like animal in Belarus?
How about the people of Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Libya, North Korea, and Sudan?
I am so sick of TRumpism, so very very sick.

That every American can get out safely
Too late. Americans have already been assaulted by the Taliban, and people have died trying to leave. Not everyone is getting out safely. Best we can hope for now is that no Americans are murdered. So we're already like three steps back from "safe and orderly "

Did someone get slapped in a war zone? Lol

No Americans have been killed or seriously injured during this withdrawal

Lawl.

People: American civilians are trapped in a war zone and being attacked by Taliban!

Biden voters: Lol. Take a salt tablet and walk it off.

Then name one that was seriously injured or killed

Would you like the army to start shooting again to clear a path?

People: People are dying and American civilians are getting attacked trying to escape Kabul!

Biden voters: Yeah, but only brown people died and I don't know any of the people who have been injured. Tell them to stop whining.

Man up

Do you want the army to start shooting again to secure kabul?

Just say it

Say it

The context here being there had already been a significant reduction during the previous administration where we went from ~8k to 2.5k. The thing is under this administration it went down to 650, which is pretty small to handle the events we've seen unfold. I get that the idea was for Afghan forces to provide the deterrence for a Taliban advance, but what I keep coming back to is how that was a sound decision knowing what we already know about instances where some of these forces did not do that and allowed the Taliban to move in.
Biden just added 6,000 troop[s there. Why could he not done that between February and June? The previous administration, during which things were quite peaceful, had nothing to do with it.

But it won't change the situation other than creating the waiting game that existed prior. We would also have to redefine what our goals there are and how we measure success.
What's wrong with a waiting game? That's the game that should have been played instead of the mess Biden has created.

Gee bud, please provide ANY evidence of me being an “Trumpist” or not caring about the people who risk their lives to help us. I’ll wait.

Isolationism nearly delivered the world on a platter to the Nazis. That ALONE would be enough to show it to be far, far worse.

No that's wrong

Yes the last administrations deal with the Taliban and endorsed by Putin was a travesty. Letting out 5000 Taliban fighters was an admission of loss by the U.S. to them. It will take decades to repair the damage the traitorous one term mistake has done to our nation. It will take years just to access all the damage.

This Time, Russia Is in Afghanistan to Win

Amid the peace talks brokered by the United States, one angle that most observers of Afghanistan have ignored is the role of Russia, which has enthusiastically supported the agreement. Along with Pakistan, Russia stands to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of any NATO withdrawal. Over the past several years, it has been quietly working in the background to enhance its ties with the Taliban, with the purpose of expanding its strategic interests in Afghanistan—and in the process exorcising the failings of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan during the 1980s. Once NATO and U.S. forces leave, Russia will once again have an opportunity to step in. And in that sense, the recent revelations about Moscow’s sordid arrangement with the Taliban should come as no surprise.

The Russia Connection again? That might explain the many millions to the Biden family, the approval of the pipeline, ending US energy independence, the Steele Dossier and Hunter's placement on an energy board.

China, coincidentally, is making moves there as well.

Why should we care about any of those folks if its okay to turn a blind eye to the slaughter of those who risked their lives to help us?

Still waiting on that evidence bud.

No that's wrong

Nope, isolationism wrecked the American military, leaving it in no shape to defend itself or help the allies against Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan. You not liking the facts doesn’t change them.

None of that true
