They call that “erring on the side of caution”. Have for centuries. You’re not likely to drown while boating. But if you where your life preserver you probably won’t drown even if the unexpected happens.

Epidemiology is like that. But that doesn’t sell ad space and generate clicks. Nor provide a brick to club democrats with. So they give you the mushroom treatment. In the dark, fed bullshit.
