Last night Sean Hannity did this cheap political shot at a health care reform advertisement. He tried to divert attention away from the real issue (health care reform) and change the subject to flag defacing.

I'll also mention, for those who don't know, that defacing the flag is protected by the 1st amendment of the United States Bill of Rights; the producers who made the advertisement broke no laws.

Lowering health standards and raising the overall prices is not reform.
Get another definition. Something with improvement in it.

Are you familiar with the phrase "Hoisted on his own petard"?

How would the famous Leftist historian Howard Zinn respond to your post? Imo he would say "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.":rofl

It's dissent baby. Free speech. Get used to it. Take the pain. It's going to get worse. :rofl

I watched that ad... It deserved to be criticized.

He tried to divert attention away from the real issue (health care reform) and change the subject to flag defacing.

No he didn't... The healthcare debate is the number one issue on every talk/opinion show, and is not being avoided. He merely commented on that disgusting ad.

Just because it's protected, doesn't mean its not vile.

And in case you missed it, neither Hannity nor Malkin suggested that showing such utter disrespect for America, shouldn't be protected

You act like you are shocked. Is this is even worth a thread?

For the record, O'Reilly mentioned it to right before Hannity.

Why should he get used to it? He watched Republicans call dessent "treason" for 8 years.

I respectfully request you prove your assertion.

Assuming for the sake of argument you can prove your assertion, are you suggesting this is simply payback for accusations of treason by Republicans during the Bush years?

Did the ad mention the 13 new taxes this bill has in it?

Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee’s health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages. Small employers (measured by payroll size) have smaller payroll tax rates of 0 percent (<$500,000), 2 percent ($500,000-$585,000), 4 percent ($585,000-$670,000), and 6 percent ($670,000-$750,000).

Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.

Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.

Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).

Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)

Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services.

Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses (Page 336): Imposes an income surtax of 5.4 percent on MAGI over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). MAGI adds back in the itemized deduction for margin loan interest. This would raise the top marginal tax rate in 2011 from 39.6 percent under current law to 45 percent—a new effective top rate.

Excise Tax on Medical Devices (Page 339): Imposes a new excise tax on medical device manufacturers equal to 2.5 percent of the wholesale price. It excludes retail sales and unspecified medical devices sold to the general public.

BREAKING: Comprehensive List of Taxes<br> In House Democrat Health Bill

I didn't think so.....

What part of "Sean Hannity is a commentator" do people not get? Seriously, he mouths off because he gets paid to mouth off and people tune in knowing he is going to mouth off and they get offended because he *gasp* mouthed off.

What the hell?

Yeah, seriously. Nobody watches Fox News to learn the news. Look at the ratings for their actual news shows versus their "commentary" shows, or how many hours a day they show news versus opinion. They aren't highly successful because of their news shows.

Oh yea lemme tell you.. I hate the country so much because I criticize Fox News, believe in free speech, and want health care reform.

I guess only the conservatives are real Americans now?

Americans don't bridge the gap between commentating and reporting, thereby necessitating commentators be addressed as if they were reporters. The industry itself blurs this distinction.

I not about to insult the intelligence of the American people by implying they are too dense to know that Sean Hannity is editorializing from the beginning of his show till the end.

It's not rocket science figuring it out.

I think you are giving the general populace to much credit.

“Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.”

I respectfully request you prove your assertion.

Then I respectfully request you lose the selective amnesia bit. The left was called America Hating treasonists for years of opposing our efforts in the "war on terrorism".

Assuming for the sake of argument you can prove your assertion, are you suggesting this is simply payback for accusations of treason by Republicans during the Bush years?

I'm suggesting it's awful silly to suddenly find joy in dissent for government when you opposed it from the start.

Actually, conservatives have been protesting against big government for decades.

What was being called treason was elected representatives who traveled to foreign countries to bad mouth both our policies and our government. Remember the quote "during war time, dissent stops at the waters edge"? Democrats have NO room to complain about the mild criticism being directed their way now after the way their representatives acted during the Bush years.:twocents:

you might not want to insult their intelligence, but i will. many are simply too dense to realize hannity is a clown. we are NOT a nation of rocket scientists.

I think your post succinctly demonstrates the difference between the way a liberal looks at our country and the way conservatives do.

Liberals truly do think you are too stupid to even follow the news, let alone control your own money, health, life, etc.

So the American citizenry is made up of idiots, that need you to regulate what they hear in order to protect them?

not you necessarily, but i know my brother in law is.

Oh yeah, doncha' know? Look at the fairness doctrine, Obamatard's attack on the Fox News over what their commentators say, and the liberal responses right here in this thread.

They refer to conservatives as fascists but we see who the real control freaks are. God forbid anyone have a different idea about the country...they can't possibly just have a different opinion. They're stupid if they do. I mean, they're too damned stupid to watch cable and know if it's an opinion show or the news.
