Ron DeSantis uses ‘monkey’ to describe Andrew Gillum agenda; Democrats brand it racist

The fact that you hear the word "monkey" and immediately associate it with black people says a lot more about you than this DiSantos guy.

No one is stupid enough to buy that. No one. Stop.

Funny thing is, I bet the majority of people "upset" by this aren't black at all, but white, self-described progressives.

What do you say you conduct your own little informal poll then and go ask a bunch of black folk how they feel about it and let us know how you make out.

I heard it first from Fox News.

Finally. Insanely stupid? Empty minds? Race obsessed? Looney? Dumb?

Are you posting in good faith?

Yes. People falsely accusing DeSantis of racism are the ones not posting in good faith

Isn't that your job?

Wow. I havent been burned like that since Jimmy pulled a similar "I know you are but what am I?" back in the 4th grade. Does mommy and daddy know you are on their computer again?

Might as well just nick name you 'toast'.

Yes, I'll ask my family and friends about it. Tell them I was tasked by some white guy on the internet to talk to "a bunch of black folk" about whether it was insensitive to use the word monkey. That should be good for a laugh.

So, we're all in agreement that DeSantis is a racist, right?

No, but after that comment we're all sure that you haven't read the thread.

I recently gave away one of my son's old 10 speed mountain bikes. A black youngster was running along with his friends down my street and he was the only one with nothing to ride. So I asked him if he wanted the bike, wrote his mother a little note saying since my boy had grown up and moved out her boy could have the bike. She phoned me and thanked me, and said her son was not a boy, he is a man. I said, then he probably isn't interested in a boy's bike. They kept the bike. He's probably monkeying around with it even now....... :)

Democrats pounce.....

"don't monkey with" is a common phrase. Don't let that stop the outrage addicts from getting their daily fix though.

Yup. The only improvement I would suggest on your post is to add the word "faux" in front of "outrage".

That's about what I thought.

Thats just insanely stupid. First of all he didnt call him a monkey, and second, do you seriously think that this army of 'racist' voters in Florida needed to be alerted to the fact that there was a black guy running for governor? And finally, if the loony left hadnt blown a gasket over this comment, no one would have heard it.

You totally miss the point. "Dog whistles" have been a mainstay of politics for decades and yes this fits the description, and yes they will be called out for what they are.

And he called Maxine dumb, not because she is black, but because she is dumb. I disagree with him regarding Don Lemon, though. Lemon is not dumb at all, he is quite bright. He is just wrong. But I am not going to argue that is a bit beneath the presidency to call other people dumb dumbs.

In trump's case, one has to take his past actions towards black folk couppled with his treatment of black folk now.

It doesn't bode well for Trump to have the federal government chastise Trump Inc in renting to black folk.

Here is the thing about Trump. He believes everyone is beneath him.

I don't see how something can be a right if it requires other people, who also have rights and free choice, to provide it to you. I mean, why didn't he just declare that everyone should be given a million dollars and new cars too?

You would have to ask him that silly question.

I agree with your first sentence. I strongly object, as a tax payer, when my tax dollars are wasted on a war brought under fraud. How can it be right if it requires tax payers to be fleeced for military expenditures that do nothing at all to defend this country?

Taxes are inevitable, I know, and what is important is how the tax dollars are spent. I would much rather my tax dollars be spent on healthcare for you and your family instead of on bogus and immoral military aggression.

It's means the same as what Obama said: "'I come from Chicago, so, I want to be honest, its not as if it's just Republicans who have monkeyed around with elections..." So if you monkeyed around with it, you monkeyed things up. Simple.

Yes, that is what I said in the post to which you responded.

Yes, "monkeying around" is an old and common phrase.

"Monkey things up" is not an old and common phrase. Maybe somebody somewhere has used it before, but I'm saying only that I have never heard the phrase before. Maybe DeSantis just made it up, or maybe he was trying to push buttons. I don't know, and I don't care. I'm voting for Gillum because he is the better candidate.
