Ron DeSantis Says Floridians Have Right to Hit Protesters With Cars

You obviously have no idea who Reginald Denny is or how badly he was beaten by a mob in LA after he was dragged from his vehicle.

Educate yourself.
And? He would have been well served not driving into the crowd. Those who assaulted him should be charged, but why is it worth driving into a crowd for that?

Wow, do you blame rape victims for wearing short skirts? Your rationalization of a brutal attack is disgusting.

“On April 29, 1992, at 5:39 p.m., Denny loaded his red dump truck with 27 short tons (24 t) of sand to be delivered to a plant in Inglewood. On the way, he left the Harbor Freewayand took a familiar shortcut along Florence Avenue. He was listening to the radio, "probably KKLA, a Christian channel," Denny said, "or country station KZLA." At 6:46 p.m., after he entered the intersection of Florence and Normandie Avenue, rioters threw rocks at his windows, and he heard people shouting for him to stop, forcing him to do so in the middle of the street.”

If a vehicle blocks a pedestrian crosswalk at an intersection on a red light, do pedestrians walking, biking, skateboarding all have a right to parkour over the portion of the vehicle blocking the crosswalk?
I don't understand why you're asking this question.

No, just suck it up and take your beating like a man 😉:

(I don’t think this will happen in Florida, which has about 2.5 million concealed-carry permits. Try to pull someone out their car against their will at your peril.)

Yep.

In many places, that guy attacking through the window could have legally been shot.

I don't understand why you're asking this question.

I think we can all agree that it's annoying any time anyone does something that's against the law and causes an inconvenience to the rest of us, right?

I also don't think rational people would think it's okay to parkour over a car blocking a pedestrian crosswalk just because some selfish ass was in a hurry and didn't care how blocking that crosswalk causes an inconvenience and safety issues for others.

If we can agree that it shouldn't be legal to damage a car just because someone was selfish for blocking the crosswalk, then I don't understand why the same thought process wouldn't apply to a protest that inconveniences everyone else?

Or is causing an inconvenience only a form of aggression when it's a political issue that you may not agree with?

The law doesn't say you can hit people with your car for inconveniencing you.

Make a post that's actually relevant to the law and I'll engage with it. I think media hoaxes are really idiotic.

Just more right wing suppression of free speech, coming from DeSantis here with his looking to ramp up stochastic terrorism and have protesters get killed and ran over by drivers.
Yo Vern , what were you doing while the Biden Junta opened the borders and flew illegals in thereby creating the present clusterflock and Constitutional crisis?

It’s not free speech to block/trap people in their cars and/or behave aggressively while doing so.

Stand on the sidewalk and hold a ****ing sign, bitch into your bullhorns, and behave like a civilized person, and nobody will have any problems.
Being annoying doesn't justify homicide.

The blood lust from the right is going to be the end of our nation. ****ing death cult.

Nobody made the claim that it does. This is another straw man. Lots of those in this thread.

Nobody on the right is calling for the murder of others.

So far.

Just disappearing people forever without due process forever in a foreign gulag.

And some "tar and feathering." 😖

Ron Desantis, actually.

No he didn’t. That’s a dishonest post.

Running someone over intentionally is murder.

Nobody suggested that anyone should run someone over. There’s no way that the denseness demonstrated in your posts is genuine.

Make good faith posts instead of hysterical and dishonest nonsense like this.

DeSantis was specific. If someone is not giving you the full context., and you chose to ignore the context, you are just blabbering. I see this as a warning to the protesters not to block and threaten motorists.

I cannot believe how stupid people are being about this.

Read the details. Find the full context of his statement, or remain ignorant.

I don't understand this penchant for killing people. Like, would it really not bother a right-wingers to kill a person because they were in their way.

How does Rittenhouse live with himself knowing he went out with a gun to kill somebody.

I find this insane.

What I find insane is people thinking they can attack and threaten others, and hate a free pass.

Rittenhouse probably has issues with that incident, but he killed in self defense. So stop your sniveling.

He was cleared by the courts, just like George Zimmerman killed in self defense and cleared.

Why do you guys champion criminals? Why do you guys thing self defense is wrong?

So, you read the clickbait headline and not what he actually said.

Protesting is great. One of the great freedoms afforded to us living in the US. However, the line should be drawn when you’re blocking traffic of citizens trying to live their lives. There’s zero reason, justification or benefit to blocking traffic or threatening innocent bystanders. It’s actually counterproductive to their cause.
Sometimes people cross streets.

This whole conversation is reprehensible. It’s like fan fic for sick individuals to fantasize about killing libs with. You could drive into them and get away with it.

It’s nasty. Especially when we already have a problem with terrorists using cars as weapons like that right wing nutjob did in Charlottesville.
