Romney may have just picked up the nomination.

First off, I think writing Cain off at this point is jumping the gun. Latest poll has Cain down slightly from polls from other groups, but still tied with Romney. The last poll from the group(USA/Gallop) before this one was before Cain's jump, so cannot really judge from that just how far he fell. However, he might just weather all of this.

I think he was trying to differentiate himself from the hardcore conservatives. He was not going to outconservative Paul or Bachmann or Perry, so he tried to present himself as different. It has not worked out well however.

So being a true conservative and not a liberal in conservative clothing makes one a candidate who sucks? I think we found out with Bush, that this is absolutely not true.

I don't think I said that because I have always thought McCain to be a Conservative.....My problem with him is he is to old and would not have been my first choice................

Electability is not the proper judge of a candidate and never has been. Ideology is. I tend to agree that Romney will be the nominee, and I hope he gets run over like a penny on the railroad track by Obama. Then maybe we can put away this "moderate Republican" crap and over the next four years find a candidate who actually IS Conservative rather than just paying lip service to it to run against the next guy (assuming the US lasts that long).

GOOD. Then maybe we'll get what we really need.... a coup or full-scale revolution to return this nation to its root philosophies and ideals from 200 years ago.
