Romney Joins Senate with Warning to Trump

Yeah, that's gonna last about 10 seconds. Romney's backbone is just as non-existent as the rest of his GOP sycophantsView attachment 67247104.

are the Dems any different? look at all the Dems who claimed if they were elected, they would oppose Pelosi

Does 45 s_it in and on the Oval Office?

I really don't know the lavatory arrangements in the Oval office-I have never been inside that area, nor have I made any attempt to learn its floor plan

Anyone learning about the American political system for the first time would be forgiven for assuming that the Senate has no oversight powers over the executive branch, and that their means of condemnation are relegated exclusively to op-eds and expressions of concern.

Actually, the Senate is more accustomed to lying to the voters, working for their donors and their Elite counterparts from the other Party, along with aiding and abetting whatever corrupt executive branch pukes they can find.

All they really care about is maintaining their personal power and wealth.

Romney will fit right in.

Yeah. Pelosi and trump. Same level of immorality and insanity. Great point!

NOT!

HNY, T.D. :2wave:

They did oppose her, and they got her to agree to step aside as Speaker in 2022. Personally, I think it was stupid of them to make her do that, but c'est la vie.

As things stand, you'll certainly never see the Republican Party demand similar concessions of Trump.

you too buddy, but answer me this

do you know how much Pelosi is worth? at least Trump and Mitster were rich before they got into government.

The GOP marches lockstep with Trump.

and the DNC with Hillary? or is it Warren? in fact lots of the GOP opposed Trump/.far more than dems who opposed Hillary

Yes, past tense. All opposition to Trump is gone, unless you count the few pundits on TV who have no real power in the party.

Agreed, he will bend the knee.

I think he's thinking of a run in 2020 myself, and is positioning himself to be 'the trump alternative' to the GOP .

Romney is just as much of a flip flopping fraud as Trump is. In 2012 he happily accepted Trump's endorsement, and even praised his so called "great business sense". 4 years later, when Trump was starting to take over the GOP in the primaries, Romney went out and called Trump a "fraud and a conman". So why did Romney accept Trump's endorsement in 2012? It's simple, he thought he needed the Trump birther segment of the GOP on his side if he wanted to win. It's also why he pretended to be the "tough candidate" on illegal immigration with his "self deportation" nonsense in 2012. He's a moderate who pandered to the far right to try and get elected. Trump, who NEVER in his entire life was a conservative, did the same thing, except unlike Romney, he was successful.

So no, I don't think Romney will oppose Trump the way McCain did. McCain actually had a backbone, Romney is a chump who will do whatever he thinks will satisfy his political masters in the GOP.

Romney will a full supporter of Trump by February, unless he plays golf with Trump sooner.

Eh...

Some of them still sense a sick animal when they smell it. He was actually allright as the moderate Republican governor of MA. Then he sold himself down the river. I suspect this is just political calculation.

Only if Trump resigns or is impeached. If neither happens, and the base still supports him (likely), there will be no primary challenger in 2020.

How much is "Turtleman" McConnell worth?

Yes, trump by reneging on his contractors payments to ripping off "university students" and leaving investors holding the bag in his casino business. Romney by liquidating companies and putting hundreds of people out of work. How honerable!

Sorry, man. It's obvious you just have a burning hatred of anything Democratic.

If you didn't know how Mitt the Mutt would land in the Senate, you don't know Romney (grin).
Full-fledged McCain resurrection: spiteful bitterness because Trump achieved easily what these two failed at miserably.

Primary challenge?!? :lamo

Uh, McCain ran for the presidency after 8 years of a disastrous Bush Jr. Presidency. No Republican, not even Lincoln or Saint Reagan won have won the presidency in 2008. That's how bad Bush and his goons were, they made Republicans unelectable at the time. As for Romney, he competed against a tough incumbent, and lost. Trump? He ran after 8 years of a Democrat in office, and happened to face the least popular Democratic presidential candidate ever, and still barely won. If you think the orange chump would have won in either 2008, or even 2012, you are deluding yourself.

He's right. Nancy Pelosi is the leader of the Democrats. If she is so bad, why do they keep her in power?

She knows how to count and corral votes. Just like that ****wad Tom Delay did for the GOP.

you aren't exactly known for having the warm fuzzies for the GOP. I don't have much use for the Dems, and I have never denied that. Now I have voted for Dems on state or more local races. I was torn between Cordray vs DeWhine. and I voted for Cordray in 2010 when it was the same two running for AG in Ohio. I won't vote for a Dem in federal races though.

I guess the Bushes and Kasich are no longer GOP

So what are they doing? Last I heard, the Bushes aren't holding any offices, and Kasich has been silent and has no oversight power over Trump anyway.
