Romney Joins Senate with Warning to Trump

Wondered how Romney would land in the Senate. Now we know. A hopeful sign, and this declared independence raises the question of whether he is laying the ground for a primary challenge.

Romney is saying he will support the president on matter of policy (where he agrees) which is fair enough and scarcely earthbreaking- and oppose him in on the intangibles-- the stature and gravitas stuff of the office.
But It should be pointed out again, that Romney is arguing here that Trump should ignore attacks on him from people like McCaffrey or Warren and not respond with rather unctious famous tweets. Maybe so. But Romney should be reminded that he was similarly attacked in 2012, and did not respond. And Trump was elected and he wasn't. Perhaps Trump understands something that Romney doesn't.

I agree: Senator Romney is laying the groundwork for running for president in 2020 if the deep state succeeds in deposing President Trump.

So his comments were to let everybody know that he is genuinely woke.

Romney will a full supporter of Trump by February, unless he plays golf with Trump sooner.

Or goes into the oval office with him alone...

At least I'm.not the only one who thinks there might be "pods".

I guess the Bushes and Kasich are no longer GOP

And others. The GOP as a power base remains all Trump but some of the guns have pulled away. More may be leaving. It’s tempting to laugh off Romney. It’s also guessing. He’s got nothing to lose by trying to fill or at least occupy some of the void left by McCain.

Yep, just like Rubio and Flake, Romney pretends to be moderate, but in the end, marches in lock step with the Republican party.

Romney's egois as big as Trump's. That is what this is all about.

Romney’s conception of public service is inifinitely bigger than Trump’s. That at least is part of what this is all about.

BS

It's about ego.

Is he better than TRump, of course. Is he the next great white hope? He's the next great white dope.
