Is there even a shred of evidence for misdeeds?
Even "babbling idiot(s)," the "batwhacked" and candidates who have no "prayer of winning the general election" still have a right to be on the Virginia primary ballot.do you think that babbling idiot Perry or batwhacked Bachman has any prayer of winning the general election?
Gingrich really doesn't have a presence in Virginia (probably one of the most important states for the election in 11 months) organized enough to get 12k signatures? I realize he's a relatively recent front-runner, but that just seems completely irresponsible. And we know how much compassion conservatives have for personal irresponsibility, right?
As a Conservative and a tea partier, this has me fuming mad. Anybody else?
As a conservative tea partier I am mad about this...mad at the candidates for failing to following simple rules to get on the ballot. Especially myvfavorit candidate, huntsman. Its no ones fault but their own for them not being on the ballot. That's not Romneys fault, or VA's fault, but their fault. As a tea partier and conservative I care about personal responsibility, not blaming others for an individual's personal failings
Do you think that is any excuse for possible misdeeds here?
Personally, I think Gingrich never intended to become a front-runner and his campaign was just a form of advertisement for his books and speaking tours so he can demand more money for them.
It's curious to me how Peter Grimm concludes that the GOP establishment is handing Romney the nomination because Gingrich, Perry, and Huntsman couldn't get on the ballot, but doesn't bother to mention that Ron Paul (whom the establishment despises) was able to get onto the ballot...
I would be more pissed off if I didn't think Romney had the best chance of unseating Obie. Maybe in the long run the Virginia law will help America. Look on the bright side.
Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, and the rest of the non-Romney candidates (except Ron Paul) have been denied the right to get on the ballot in Virginia by the Republican establishment in Virginia.
This means Romney will take nearly all of the delegates from Virginia.
This makes it mathematically next to impossible for anyone but Mitt Romney to be the GOP candidate in November.
And in typical sneaky fashion, they do it over Christmas, so that nobody notices.
The GOP establishment has FORCED this candidate down our throats. The way they figured, Romney IS getting on the ticket, your voice/vote be damned. They have done everything in their power to put him on the ticket in spite of the fact that the base doesn't like him, and it looks like they have succeeded.

Take your fake rage elsewhere. You already demonstrated that you are anti-Ron Paul, who is the most conservative candidate. Unfortunately, you are a typical republican who shows outrage at Romney, but will probably vote for him.
Much like real estate, campaigning for public office comes down to three things: organization, organization, and organization.
I think this only proves that Gingrich and Perry never really took the process of running for the nomination seriously. How quickly we forget that only a few months ago Gingrich was taking vacations when his staff was begging him to stick around and make decisions about his campaign, and quitting en masse as a result of his seemingly careless attitude.

1. No, the establishment didn't do this. Their incompetency did. They had plenty of time to gather the signatures.
2. No, it doesn't make Romney the only possible winner. Far from it.

Hey guy, do you really want candidates who can't get 12,000 signatures to be your Party's nominee, and potentially your President? If their campaigns are that incompetent, they are probably incompetent , too. If this costs Gingrich or Perry or whoever the nomination, then you have been done a favor. These people didn't make it happen in the Virginia primary, and that was the very least they had to do. God forbid it was something more important, after the election, if one of them had won. This shows that someone can sound smart, carry that swagger and look good, but still be a loser.
Bachmann, Huntsman and Santorum also failed to get enough signatures to get on the Virginia Ballot.
Wrong. The people of Virginia deserve to vote for whoever they want. To force them to choose b/w Romeny and Paul is a sham.
It was THEIR responsibility to get enough votes to be on the ballot in Virginia.... Which leads me to ask, if they are so incompetent with their own campaigns, how do you think they would do as president? Their incompetency in Virginia is pretty telling.
