Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into [W:461]

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

I say we take away the guns from gun control advocates. They will be happy for they will not have a gun. The rest of will enjoy our right to bear arms. Problem solved.:lamo:lamo

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

Gun control advocates as the hatred and fear driven have always done; Communists, Nazi, Catholics, Hutu and other assorted fear-mongering murderers.
I am a Catholic and frankly, if you aren't hurting anyone I couldn't care less what you do with your free time. I've got enough on my plate to worry about others' business.

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

SCOTUS = GOVERNMENT

Our founding fathers who wrote the constitution had other ideas on that.

Since you asked what is wrong with gun control, the answer is EVERYTHING. Gun control does not have any good points. Name one.

1) It is not possible to determine what anyone will do in the future
2) It is OPPRESSIVE to try and punish people becasue of what you think they will do
3) It is OPPRESSIVE to punish others becasue you have no idea who will commit such acts
4) It is OPPRESSIVE and against our legal system to accuse or punish on suspicion
5) It is OPPRESSIVE and against our legal system to PUNISH INNOCENT PEOPLE
6) It is INHUMAN to deny anyone the best means of self defence because of fear.
You are asking a political movement to think outside of pre-packaged talking points, and to step outside of the box and understand what a true progression of society into liberty and individual sovereignty entails. For those who go through life feeling the need to be directed, one may be asking too much.

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

What a ridiculously dishonest equivocation.
He was spot on. Saying A can't have B because C did D with it is tyranny.

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

Who said anything about handing out guns to anyone?
And where is this line of gun handouts. I had to purchase the ones I own.

‘Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower Into Exploding Target
Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into Exploding Target

Successfully proving that we will kill ourselves before ISIS ever gets the chance, a patriotic gun owner decided that the only way to make shooting his lawn mower better was to also rig the lawn mower to explode. What could POSSIBLY go wrong? The short answer is – a lot.

David Presley loaded up an old lawn mower with three pounds of Tannerite, which is a compound used to create exploding targets for use on shooting ranges. There’s no legitimate need for a target to explode, but hey – ‘Murica! Right?

Presley clearly didn’t read the instruction manual. Sheriff Joe Chapman told local news that you are supposed to use less than a pound of the explosive compound if you want to make an exploding target and you need to stand at least 100 yards away from it when you shoot.

Presley opted to use the 3 pounds and stand 25 yards away. The ensuing blast of liberty deprived Captain Dumbass of his left leg below the knee.

We need a way to screen out these type of law abiding folks from owning a gun..............

BTW

Mr Presley is a firm critic of Obamacare and will not carry HCI because he will not allow "big goberment" tell him how he should live his life...........it's a freedom thing.......

So us taxpayers will bear the costs of his medical bills........rehab expenses and years of disability payments and food stamp assistance..........

So in short.................We have to pay for Mr. Presley's "Second Amendment" rights for a life time..................

That man should never be allowed to own a lawnmower.

I have a better idea, a perfect solution if you will. Allow gun control advocates a period of time where they may take firearms by force from those who own them, they may keep and destroy all that they collect up to the deadline. Here is the catch, they may not involve any form of authorities, they have no legal protections so if they happen to be injured or killed in the attempt then there is no consequence as it will be filed under self defense, they may not bring weapons of any kind to this action as that would be hypocritical and thus we cannot allow that. The survivors can write a report on how well it worked out.

Yeah, but you have to give those back when you're done.

The title to this thread was a non starter to begin with. The title to the linked article was a non starter

Responsible people do not act that way to begin with.

Perhaps the peg leg will grow up after seeing his limb fly off into the bushes.

a perfect " here... hold my beer" moment.

people love to blow **** up... every now and then blowing **** up goes bad.

guess what?... people will still want to blow **** up.

blowing **** up is pretty fun.... I recommend blowing **** up, but i'd advise against being stupid when blowing **** up... Darwin awards are won by being stupid.

Re: Responsible Gun Owner’ Blows Off His Own Leg After Turning His Lawnmower into....

So where'd you get the idea that someone advocates "handing out" guns to these people?
Further... what do you think about the dumbest among us having the right to vote?

Uhh.. Why don't you read the thread and find out ?

I think a dumbass who votes doesn't jeopardize the lives of those around them like they could with a firearm.

It seems obvious that you have NO idea what "tyranny" means.

Yeah, but you have to give those back when you're done.

the best thing about retiring from the Marines was putting down the M16 and the M9 for good.... they couldn't have given them to be if they wanted to.

Dunno who the quote belongs to.

Oh, but I do, it is inherent in one sided attacks on personal liberty. It is considered oppressive power, and this is as applied to other human beings. The good Reverend provided a textbook response, I couldn't care less if you agree with the logic or not, it is sound.

Fair enough, I tend to like the autos though, not necessarily carbines.

I didn't like carrying them every day.. and I especailly didn't like their field performance.
I was lucky when I enlisted and was issued an M-14 for service in 'Nam... sometimes Marines being the last in line to get new toys is a good thing.
i've no experience with the carbines(M-4), but as it's the same round..I wouldn't like it.

I have buddies who used multiple versions of the M-16, they HATED it. Jammed when dirty, more accurate than an AK but less stopping power and a bitch to keep the internals clean.

yeah.. I can attest to all of the above.
I can also attest to my 14 being a beast in the field...

but as with anything, three are tradeoffs... we chose weight and cost over power and effectiveness.
as any infantryman will say, weight is a big ass issue.... 394 days of lighter weight versus 1 day of stopping power is a no brainer for the guys humping the peashooters. ( the -14 got heavy as **** after about 2 miles... by the time you hit 20 or 30 miles, the damned thing weighed as much as you did)

LOL attacks on personal liberty ?

Like rigging a lawnmower to blow up and then shooting it, severely injuring yourself and then getting the mess cleaned up on the taxpayer dime ? Is it possible that such a circumstance impacts the liberty of the public ?

It seems you could care less, as you could not be here arguing by declaration. Another pathetic argument, trying to define itself to be correct. Hint: if you assume your own conclusion, you are engaged in circular logic.

See, this is a perfect example of speaking before understanding the argument. You don't seem to have the correct dots connected here. The Reverend asserted correctly that using an incident that happened to involve a firearm, while foolishly disregarding the portion of the story where it was nothing more than a catalyst to an EXPLOSIVE that was misused as a weak, sorry excuse to attack the rights of MILLIONS of people not responsible would be textbook tyranny. He is right, now, would you like to address the FACT that his proximity to the explosion and the AMOUNT OF EXPLOSIVES used were the result of his injury or do you want your position to keep circling the drain.

Sending the sheep to attack the wolves is suicide. I wonder if these gun control advocates truly live in fear of everything or if it is a power trip thing. They just want to rule over everyone. I think it is a power trip. There can't be that many people living in fear.

That's my compromise. If it's their funeral oh well...................
