Respect for flags?

Instead of posting your picture on this forum of the wrongdoing of this private homeowner, in not portraying proper protocol why don't you address your concerns with the homeowner yourself?

We know that **** ain't gonna happen...lol

I thought about simply describing this proud American scene, but I figured the usual suspects would troop in to talk about how unbelievable my claims were without photographic evidence. Hence the photographic evidence.

Take a photo during the day. We can't see **** in that dark ass photo.

Well, I think it's excessively harsh or severe. For a flag, hell, it's my flag, I bought it, I can do what I like with it.

Why should I have people being judgmental about my stuff?

I would say "glad to hear you aren't judgemental" ... except you are. So ... whatever.

Who said you had to engage in a conversation? You could send them a note by mail. You would not even have to sign your name but if you found reason that they were breaking protocol on displaying multiple flags you could make your case why instead of starting a thread on the subject that does nothing to address those who may not be following protocol.

That's a thought.

But I don't want to give the person that much attention.

Yes, I know, I just opened the door to someone saying that I'm giving them attention here -- but they're not seeing this attention. They're not getting the gratification. Not from me.

Well, glad we cleared up that this whole flag thing is a load of crap.

A flag is a symbol. People have willingly sacrificed their lives for what that symbol represents. Yes, you bought it. But don't be surprised if you encounter people willing to sacrifice your life for desecrating that flag. Yeah, do what you want, "there is a reaction for every action." - Newton

Doesn't matter to me personally. It is your call.

American flag should always be the biggest and highest

Unless the United States flag is flown verticle and the other flags are flown at "parade rest". Technically, the flags are being displayed properly

Obviously a Trump cult member.

Oh whoop dee doo.
I don't expect they'll be calling out the militia for you ;) :2wave:

I was a little bit concerned for my safety. Those flags are probably a pretty good burglary deterrent. If you looked up and down the block and tried to guess which house was most likely to have the most guns, this one was the obvious favorite.

But I wanted the picture -- because this is the kind of thing Trumpsters would claim was totally made-up if I didn't have that picture.

God bless the Confederate States of Trump.

Actually, the photograph confirmed that you don't know jack **** about the proper display of the flag.

I saw this yard on my run this evening.

I hope you're a long distance runner and don't have cult members like that in your immediate neighborhood, that site during a nice healthy run would definitely harsh my mellow. ;)

It's doing some serious harsh to mine! :lamo

Yeah, it's a symbol.

And as a symbol it's there so people can express their joy, happiness, anger, distaste for the thing it represents. That's it's JOB.

It say "you can't disrespect the flag" is saying "the government is perfect", which it clearly isn't.

And just because you would risk your life for what it represents, doesn't mean someone else would. Or, in the case of the US flag, part of what it represents is freedom of speech, freedom to talk politics, freedom to protest the government.

So, to say "you're disrespecting the flag" is fine, you can say that, but then how are you disrespecting the flag by doing what Constitution says is an important and integral part of the country?

Makes no sense at all.

Poor Amelia, so misunderstood.

The usual suspects have every right to give their opinion whether you like it or not.

I'm sure the neighbors appreciate what was done here; way to make friends & influence people!

:donkeyfla

Oh absolutely!

Maybe she could knock on the door and demand an explanation as well:

"Excuse me - I'm a Democrat neighbor who has posted photos of your home on the internet in order to criticize/embarrass you, and I'm here today to take & post more. I'd like to know what you were thinking when you put those flags up!"

Don't ask me. Only a piece of textile to me.

I bled for my country and my buds in the field, not a flag.

Logic, reason, "sense" have nothing to do with those who take offense. Hey, you are the one putting your rear end on the line as a target. You know what you are doing. The consequences are yours to enjoy. People have been lynched for less.

In a world of road rage, random murders, and desensitized kids playing Mortal Kombat you want reason. :lamo

Well these days people aren't even bleeding for the country, but for the rich and the oil.

I congratulate the people in that neighborhood.

If that yard display had been put up in many areas (including here in Los Angeles) vandals would have destroyed the display and maybe even vandalized the house.

It's nice to see that there are still some places where freedom of speech is still respected.

No different than at any other time in history. All wars ultimately are about controlling wealth.

Sure, and yet people are so blind to this. They get their patriotism, think they're doing something good.... and the rich are laughing....

Everyone wants wealth, of one sort or another. So said the blind man as he picked up the hammer and saw.
