Republicans Try to Block Moore’s Path as Candidate Denies Sexual Misconduct

There's no temper involved. He's presenting false equivalence that defends the KKK through minimizing the influence of racism in the organization. We know the KKK lynched black people that they damn well knew were innocent. We know the KKK did not lynch white people no matter how guilty. Rushing to judgement was not the problem, homicidal racism was the problem.

I suppose the problem with Nazis was also rushing to judgement? So anyone rushing to judgement is like the KKK and Nazis? Pathetic apologism for racism.

That was my point. The cited behavior is not the thing that made that group notable. Pretty sure if my history exam asked me to explain what was notable about the KKK and I answered "They rushed to judgment," I would not get an A.

He graduated from West Point usually West Point graduates aren't ignorant, usually those who consider West Point graduates ignorant are
by definition ignorant themselves. Quit with the silliness.

He's an ignorant, jerk. He's also a birther, like your drinking buddy Trump. You're not one to call anyone ignorant.

Got it, thanx for straightening me out on these situations. Continue by all means to offer up the wealth of what you know, it clears things up!

Anytime. And you keep signing praises of ignorant, homophobic, bigoted harassers, like Trump and Moore.

You're welcome.

Still doesn't qualify.
Hands on crotch/breast even covered, child cannot consent, it's child molestation. I checked it before I posted it last time. Are you saying you have something that disputes that?

So...the Senate GOP Elites are trying like hell to remove someone from the election who is a threat to them. Apparently it doesn't matter what the GOP voters in Alabama want. This reminds me of what the Democrat Elites did to Sanders and their own Democratic voters.

This is why I don't follow herds. There will always be someone telling you to sit down, shut up and vote the way they tell you to vote.

What the Democrats did to Sanders was wrong, and they paid for it by losing an election to Trump. And, I am sure, that what the voters in Alabama want is someone to represent them who is not a pervert. This is why the Senate race is now a statistical dead heat that the Democrats actually have a chance of winning. The voters didn't vote for Moore in the primary knowing that he was a pervert, so they don't need to have this rubbed in their faces. They deserve a chance to put a Republican in that seat who represents their own moral views. This is why I am in favor of delaying the election until a replacement candidate can be found. Once he is found, the GOP will win that seat in a landslide. After all, this is Alabama we are talking about, not a swing state.

Moore is a Religious Fundamentalist Nut job....That doesn't change at all...Unfit for the Senate....If these allegations bring him down........Then that is a good thing

And you are worried that the Dems will take the seat.. so are you biased?

What is important to me is the process. Candidates are basically irrelevant. The GOP chose this guy, and have to live with it.

Now what I would do, provided there is an ability to register new candidates or write in, is the following.

1) Fully distance and dump Roy Moore. You cant do anything about him being the GOP candidate, because he won the nomination. However you can cut his funding and support fully. Basically run a campaign against him.

2) Use the money to promote another candidate .. either registered or write-in. They should be able to find another candidate easily since we all know that the only way a Dem can win in Alabama is if there is no GOP candidate.

Yes there is only a month left, but the situation is well reported and all over the media. On top of that, the money the GOP can put into the race is nearly unlimited. Remember the Dems have barely backed their own candidate with money or support. This race is the GOPs to lose... pure and simple.

Good thing you are concerned with the process! As long as the process is a left wing newspaper digging up these people, on their word only, and then destroy the life of a man (as long as he is a Republican), and only believe one side, with all the holes in the story, and not him.

Why should government step in to favor a political party?

I'm not sure what they deserve if a democratic candidate is running neck and neck with a rapist. And I lived in B'ham for a few years in the 90's, and loved it. But hey, if this is how a majority of your people feel? Reckon that's how they feel, a rapist is as good as a dem.

Oh, bull****.

The women are presenting their story. Moore can present his, if he chooses. The public can decide, if the stories don't match-up.

Hell, South Dakota repeatedly chose a rapist as Gov.

I hate to break it to you, but it's not just only on their word. As of now, 34 named witnesses, most of them Republican, have confirmed the story.

I'm not familiar.

But is so, that's the voter's choice - barring any legal disqualification.

Well it was SD's white voter choice and the raped girl was "Indian", so you know how it goes.

Gov. Kay Ivey has no plans to change Senate election date

11/11/17

Josh Pendergrass, communications director for Gov. Kay Ivey, said today the governor does not intend to change the date of the Dec. 12 election. "The Governor is not considering and has no plans to move the special election for the U.S. Senate," Pendergrass said in a text message. Moore has vowed to stay in the race. The state Republican Party could remove him as its nominee but it's too late for the party to replace him with another candidate or remove his name from the ballot. The deadline for that was 76 days before the election. Ivey has already changed the date once. Former Gov. Robert Bentley initially scheduled the special election to coincide with next year's elections. Ivey changed the date after she replaced Bentley as governor in April. Alabama Republican Party leaders have not said if they plan to take any action regarding Moore's status as the nominee.

In the case of Powell v. McCormack (1969), the SCOTUS ruled that all duly elected members of Congress must be seated if they meet the constitutional requirements of age, citizenship or residency.

I've seen you make some great posts, but I don't see this as one of them.

And I so wanted to please His Highness. The question was why to intervene, the response stands. That is the intent of the interventionists, rightly or wrongly.

Ah. But our Constitution does not reference political parties.

Still won't be enough for him. Now if it were a "D" then it'd just take an unsourced National Enquirer story to break out the pitch-forks and torches.
