Today there is bound to be alot of talk, and discussion about the schedule "Koran Burning Day", and the NYC Mosque. But I wanted to take a moment, and say that we shouldn't forget why this day is so infamous to us. To not get caught up in these trivial issues, and be divided by them. But let us remember the innocent lives lost on that horrible day. Let us come together in mourning, and remember that we are all Americans. May our prayers, and well wishes help those people who lost loved ones on that day. And let us pray for the troops that are over in the middle east because of the events of 9/11. Let us come together, not as members of the same political group, or religious beliefs, but as Americans. Lets forget about these trivial issues, and remember what is important. May we never forget what is important.

I am suprised that this thread is not active today. I agree with Your Star. We should put aside our differences today and remember those Americans we lost 9 years ago.
 
I will today remember the 2,000+ civilians that died that day.

I will also remember the 100,000+ Iraqi civilians and the 6,000+ Afghan civilians that have since died.

you should also remember that the majority of those Iraqi civilians where killed by insergents and al qaeda. For the most part those innocent civillians killed by our troops were accidental. Our military goes out of its way to avoid civilian casualities.

I'm not going to get into the politics of who has done the killing. Right now I am just remembering them. Please do not derail this remembrance thread.

So say 3,000- if you feel it's so awkward to include 33 people in.
2,000+ makes it appear as if the Islamic radicals have murdered a bit above 2,000 innocents that day.

Please do me a favour and grow up. I had no agenda when I said 2,000+... that was the number I remembered off the top of my head, and I'm not going to write 3,000- because it was slightly less than 3,000. I wasn't trying to "make it appear" like anything. Stop derailing this thread with your pettiness.

At no part was I claiming that you've given those figures out of agenda or because you wanted to make it appear in a way that it is not, but the figures do indeed mislead and I was merely there to correct you.
Now I will do as SgtRock asks and won't continue this argument, you may as well do the same.

It was the Pearl Harbor of our times. For a brief moment we were all one. At least until politicians tried to make a photo op out of it as they always do.

But I was never more proud to be an American than that day. We were truly united.
 
RIP Brian, Robert and David.

RIP all those who died that day and have since died as a result of that day.

Peace be with those who have lost family, friends, children, husbands, wives, grandparents, ... simply loved ones.... my thoughts and wishes for peace and tranquility for you and yours this day.
 
May the victims of 9/11 always be remembered. May the heroes on that day be honored in our nation. God bless America.
