Rally in support of Jan. 6 rioters is new headache for GOP

If the cops are prepared, I don't care if they try it. There are always more jail cells.
I thought I was joking last year when I said the Thumpers would all end up behind bars. I guess they are even dumber than I thought.

Well there's going to be a different response this time around and police presence is going to be heightened for sure. Hopefully they don't try another round of "let's sack Congress".
I honestly don't anticipate a big turn-out.

More hillbillies will be arrested.

I'm guessing not.

I'm guessing things will be relatively peaceful and then Trump supporters will use the event as their latest "see, nothing wrong with us, you hyped it because you wanted things to go wrong, but we were peaceful, just like we were on Jan. 6 before Antifa stirred things up".

for those within the GOP who want to move on from former President Trump

Too ****ing bad.

Those who want to move on...blah, blah, blah...are losing the power in the Republican Party that they once had. Republicans don't give a rat's ass if they have a headache.
That's a good thing. The more the somewhat reasonable Republicans lose power, the better the chances the far-right nuts will be running against the Democrats in '22 and '24. I like the chances of Democrats vs TrumpNuts. (BTW, did you notice how well Larry Elder did in California?)

1. I'm not a "you guys". I think and speak for myself, only.

2. My throat is safe. I'm not a Trump hating Republican nor am I a Trump supporting Republican.

You, on the other hand, are dismissed for subjecting me to a totally useless comment.

😂😂😂

Suuuure you aren’t. You just fanatically defend everything he does for the fun of it 🙄😂

It is important that we never forget that the events of 1/6/21 are the US equivalent of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined but made even worse because of the fact that the nuclear annihilation was caused by domestic, rather than foreign forces. Had the domestic terrorists of 1/6 been successful they would have inevitably caused deaths and destruction the likes of which the world had never seen. Picture, if you will 90 million Americans dead, lying in the streets as the terrorists dance in front of the bonfire that used to be the Capitol. The image, as horrifying as it may be, would likely only get worse as the virus of insurgency gradually worked its way around the globe. 30 million deaths in the UK. 50 million deaths in Germany. More than a billion deaths across Asia as the insurgents impose their will around the globe. Fortunately, we have the heroic Mike Byrd to thank for preventing the mayhem that we all know would have happened. Byrd, fearless and steadfast, confirmed in his solemn duty and dedicated to freedom, wasted the ringleader in front of the masses and single-handedly saved the nation. We need to replace the racist Washington Monument with a 500' tall statue to Mike Byrd as a reminder to the world what he saved them all from.

Sounds like you should renounce your citizenship and crawl off to Russia, you victim you 🙄

This is likely to be a no vax no mask event.

Upside.

Plus, the heroic Mike is black while the dumb dead chick was white. That's bonus points.

Are you sick of winning yet? I'm not.

Rally in support of Jan. 6 rioters is new headache for GOP

The Republicans would just like everyone to have amnesia regarding the violent January 6 Trump insurrection at the Capitol and pretend it was simply a few wayward tourists.

However, factions of the GOP and white-supremist thug allies were intent on canceling the election certification of Joe Biden and hanging certain government officials including VP Mike Pence.

'Am I scared? Absolutely,' a Capitol Police officer says before Sept. 18 rally

Earlier today I watched CNN coverage of the event area before things were scheduled to start. There were what looked like several thousand cops, hundreds of reporters and...that was it. I just saw something that did appear to be a rally but it didn't look like there were more than a few dozen participants.

Yep, the rally was a complete dud.

Weren't they Code Pink?

Cowards... They like to stroke their guns and act tough, but when the other side shows up with guns the Trumpsters, like Trump himself, are cowards.. How many showed up? 100???? In support of the Jan 6th traitors? Hell they've arrested more than 100 of the traitors... I guess the traitors are on their own...

I imagine Trump's run for 2024 will end the same way. Has he lost the touch?
To be fair, he had nothing to do with the rally and even suggested people stay away from it, because he said it was a setup.

Yep, the rally was a complete dud.
Trump wasn't there to get them all frothy.

Then again, there were more than a few January 6th insurrectionists who expressed disillusionment with Trump when he failed to materialize at the riot/save them after they got arrested.

Pretty sure he got tipped off the attendance was going to be very, very low no matter what he said..

So he backed away, and made up an excuse.. If this was going to be a big deal he would have showed up, he's not doing anything anymore.

All he had to do was announce 1 of his rallies... But he didn't dare, he was tipped off it was going to be a dud.

Any arrests? Seems like a pretty non event.
