Poll: Views of Democratic Party Hit Lowest Mark in 25 years

Yeah, I guess? I think people are fed up with politicians on both sides, and try to just vote for the lesser evil at the time.

Only this time they voted for the dude with the can of gasoline promising to throw it on the house. It's the best can of gasoline and you'll get tired of how fast the fire is put out.

Now, us silly liberals start yelling for the man with the gasoline to stop what he's doing. "But the house is on fire," he exclaims. "We have to put out the fire." We shout some more. "Ok, ok. Hang on." The man runs off and comes back... with a slightly different can of gasoline.

Poll: Views of Democratic Party hit lowest mark in 25 years - CNNPolitics

" Washington (CNN)Favorable views of the Democratic Party have dropped to their lowest mark in more than a quarter century of polling, according to new numbers from a CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

Only 37% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Democrats, down from 44% in March of this year. A majority, 54%, have an unfavorable view, matching their highest mark in polls from CNN and SSRS, CNN/ORC and CNN/USA Today/Gallup stretching back to 1992"

Odd, a year after Trump was elected you would have thought the rampant Trump hatred would have payed off Politically by now. Apparently no, and your'e doing a bang up job Democrats :2wave:
In comparison to the other major party, Dems are indeed doing a bang-up job as they are half again as popular - 37% favorable (D) vs 25% favorable (R).

Source: CNN Poll: Opinion of the Republican Party falls to all-time low

The real takeaway here though, is not that the Dems are seen far more favorably than the Repubs, but that both parties are slipping into disfavor; and for good reason!

Both parties are in for big changes. The last three presidential candidates reflect a country that has worn out it's appeal. Add to this the multi-sources of info we are showered with now anything goes.

You see, the parties try to get their guys elected by convincing people that the other guys are worse than us. That's where we are.

I evaluate Trump's policy proposals. They're bad.

As I did with Obama's, which were far worse.

And it wasn't your party convincing you of this? So your statement before was just for everybody else. You're the sole wise one. Got it ;)

For eight years the GOP has been screaming that the house is on fire. The house is on fire. We need to do something. Screech all you want, but if you do it while holding a can of gasoline people are going to be skeptical.

The voters aren't stupid, like you suggest. They felt the house was on fire, that's why they booted Democrats out for the last six years. The right aren't skillful used car salespersons. Voters realized they were sold lemons eight years ago.

Republicans still control the house, senate, and white house. Democrats get to do what the Republican party did for eight years under Obama. Criticize without delivering. That's easy to do, particularly when boneheaded conservatives give you so much to criticize, and fail misserably to deliver on all the bogus promises they made while Obama was in office.

I find it highly entertaining when the left criticize Republicans for not delivering on things the left didn't want in the first place.

These last 10 months have given Americans a taste of what it's like to be governed by children.

It's good thing the Dems are starting to take back the country so we can again be governed responsibly.

Dems win from coast to coast | TheHill

Ummmmm. The reason why Democrats suffered such steep losses over the last six years across the entire country is because Democratic policies weren't working. Now you want voters to eject the "children" and go right back to all of the policies that weren't working.

I don't like term limits. There's a reason the founders never put it in the Constitution. Additionally, the way districts are Gerrymandered, you'll mostly be swapping out for another guy in the same party. That won't change much.

But since you want new blood, I assume you won't be voting for incumbents.

Yeah. The right who want term limits really haven't thought things through. Just like the left often don't think their policies through because they sound good, so to does the right regarding term limits. Sounds good. Terrible idea. We already have term limits. They are called the voters.

My party? Not sure what you are talking about, it's not about me.

My party? Not sure what you are talking about, it's not about me.

Republicans have been denying their brand since before the 2006 elections ...

Virginia has had a one-term term limit for governor since the beginning of this Nation. Gov. Northam doesn't have to worry about getting reelected in 4 years ...

They elected Donald Trump. They might not be as aware as you think.

Huh. Odd, then, that three Democrats have won GOP legislative districts in Oklahoma special elections since Trump won the state in 2016.

And they just won Jersey and Virginia.

You mean deep blue districts in Tulsa and OK City?

You mean the deep blue states of Virginia and New Jersey?

If you guys are crowing about things you should win, why are you crowing at all?

The adorables fail to realize, the Dems have finally found something to unite over, there dislike for Trump. The Dem turnout in VA was impressive, and a warning shot to Trump, you best expand your base beyond 27%. Seems to me he is just pissing off folks he should be attracting.

That's a little different scenario, but, one of my main arguments is that term limit believers believe that term limits would limit the amount of influence from lobbyists and would also limit corruption but I actually believe the opposite because, if they knew ahead of time that they would be gone, they would try and steal as many cookies out of the cookie jar as they could before they were gone. Wasn't it a former governor of Virginia who was in major trouble for accepting all kinds of gifts and bribes, finally being saved by the Supreme Court? Also, my second argument would be if you completely turned over Congress every few years then everyone would be rookies and would not know what they were doing. There are high level intelligence committees and other such dealings with other countries from good to bad that I would be terrified over if we always had to start off from scratch all over again and so many things would be lost in the transitions. It would be chaos.

That is true, and that includes the GOP elites.
Democrats in a attempt to distance themselves from the elites in their party have decided to turn Left, and run on a platform thats heavy on identity politics and light on policy

The problem with that is its a divisive strategy with limited appeal. They may impress younger voters and maybe even Bernie Sanders suporters, but they're alienating working class Americans and the Middle class who have more substative concerns.

They still have a year to prove whether they can do better then the GOP. Winning is one thing...proving you deserve it by delivering is another.
It always amuses me when a partisan talks about how the other side must "prove" it whilst their own people are in the majority and failing long and hard.

This is EXACTLY why the Republicans did so well in yesterday's elections.

A record number of people signed up for Obamacare for 2018. You might want to think Democratic policies aren't working but it doesn't make it true.

Deep Blue States like Virginia had a 66-34 GOP margin in the House of Delegates until yesterday ...
