Seeing this despot get kicked out of office and out on his thug ass would be sweeter than honey.

A new poll from NBC News and Marist College shows Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker trailing a Democratic challenger by double-digits, part of a raft of rough results for Republicans across three Midwestern states.

The poll showed Wisconsin state education superintendent Tony Evers, the Democratic primary front-runner, taking 54 percent to Walker's 41 percent in a head-to-head matchup. Walker has warned for months that Republicans need to be active and vigilant as he runs for a third term, with Democrats winning a series of down-ballot elections in Wisconsin earlier this year.

But Democrats have had to grapple with a crowded Democratic primary field that at one point included more than a dozen candidates, but which has shrunk to eight ahead of the Aug. 14 primary. Evers has consistently polled at the front of the Democratic field.

The results are sharply more negative for Walker than the most recent Marquette University poll of the governor’s race in June, which showed Walker narrowly ahead of Evers, 48 percent to 44 percent.

NBC and Marist also surveyed the governor's races in Michigan and Minnesota, with the results showing Democrats in commanding positions in both open races.

Great news.

We mustn't get complacent though.

I feel pretty good about it based on recent local elections, including my area sending a Democrat to the state senate to replace a Republican. I expect turnout to be robust.

That would be awesome but I don't see it.

The ire over Governor Walker has waned to a point to where Wisconsinites have just come to accept him. He's touting FOXConn, educational grants, tuition freezes, "Open for Business" and he doesn't partake in all that partisan tit-for-tat negativity that turns people off.

It's calmed down a lot since the attempt to recall.

Would love to see him go but I ain't counting on it.

Hey, don't complain.

Here in TEXUZ people are so crazy they'd vote Honey boo-boo into office if she had an 'R' next to her name.

I know, right?!?

My friends and relatives in Texas, God love 'em, act like they are all competing in a contest of Stupid. It's like they have to one up each other when it comes to conservative whackism's

It's the peer pressure.

They really aren't that stupid. They just have to act like it.

LOL. There's quite a lot of state where only the R or the D matter. For every Texas there's a California. Is Honey Boo-boo good looking?

Yeah, there's a lot of that in this state.

You try to warn someone about the consequences of their choices and they just double down to spite you.

Like when I tried to warn my uncle not to buy a used Audi, but he bought it anyways, despite knowing the possible costs of repairs as the vehicle ages. After the fuel pump went out on that mother****er he had a big 'I told ya' so!' hanging over his head.

Any chance he has wised up and could make something of himself on the national stage?

He was a joke, I am not sure it is possible to come back from that.

Funny you should mention the education funding. After slashing education funding he has now started pumping money back in just in time to generate ad copy.

It is frustrating, but hopefully people see through it.

Poll numbers (and post-2016 election turnout) suggest that people do see through it.

.... and FoxConn is controversial

That strikes me as an odd form of peer pressure.

Doesn't anyone have the guts to tell their neighbor they disagree?

I live in a Republican neighborhood, but I had this very conversation today with my Trumper neighbor. Every few weeks, he's got to try and convince me that I will come around to his way of thinking, if only I would listen to, read, and watch "his" news sources. And every few weeks, I politely tell him he's nuts for believing any of that crap. Now he's on a love-of-Russia kick, it seems. He thinks Putin is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and believes we can learn from him. Oy Vey.

Sometimes it's hard to not think "what an idiot!" when you hear these people talk - charming as they might be.

The Koch Brothers haven't gotten around yet to spending their fifty millions dollars to buy walker another election. They are too busy spending thousands on another lying ad to try and bring Tammy Baldwin down. They will eventually get around to spending money on Walker. By the way, Walker has also taken money from the Russians

We used to debate politics, friendly to fairly passionately, all the time. For years, way before Trump. But now, there's really nothing to debate. Our facts don't line-up anymore.

Even worse, we can't seem to agree on basic values much lately. He loves what Trump did to those kids, and is unhappy Trump backed down to the media over it. He thinks the parents should be "taught a lesson", and subsequently lose their kids.

He also today showed a love of Putin, that blew me away. He believes Trump should be more like Putin, and that Trump should disregard the FBI, DOJ, and courts. He even thinks Trump should share intel & investigation efforts with Putin, in order to have Putin assist in getting to the bottom of "what really went down" with HRC, Fusion, Obama, Comey, Stryzok, Page - he listed them all by name. And then he categorically stated and restated in no uncertain terms, that he believes Putin over our government.

Hard to believe he owns a successful business, and lives in a house pushing seven figures. I hope he doesn't let his thoughts be known to his customers. But without agreed-upon facts and shared common values, I can't even relate to him anymore.

We were in Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon for a Nationals/Brewer game — only saw one MAGA hat — it’s happening throughout Farm country —

It’s always been ‘Escape To Wisconsin’ for me from the late 70s — John Muir Ice Age Trails — Kettles and Moraines —

Voter suppression is alive up there — The DEM Milwaukee congressional district ALWAYS severely underperforms — The Madison Liberals VOTE — GOP Rep. Grotham in the North could get swept up — still way behind in their state legislature —

Look to Minnesota for similar voting patterns, with MN being a vital state for DEMs — 5 of 8 CDs in play — termed-out Governor —> GOPs with the state legislature —> see a pattern —> it was REDMAP 2010

NEVER, ever, underestimate Scott Walker. It’s about voting, not polls.

More on Wisconsin elections — the GOP primary for Senate is between Koch’s Nicholson and beloved state Senator Leah Vukmir — the winner gets Sen. Baldwin in the main event — watching coattails flying all over the place is serious fun —

Great mod/con DEM Ron Kind is in the huge WI-03, bordering the all-important Minnesota — I’m beyond convinced that one has to group states bordering each other with common interests into ‘provinces’ and do crossover advertisement, such as out of Minneapolis/St. Paul into western Wisconsin—

I’ve got ten of those provinces, and MN/WI is one of them.

Escape to Wisconsin!

Not sure if you saw this:

(CNBC) Three Midwestern Senate Democrats have big leads in new polls to go along with massive cash advantages

It's happening!

Let's just hope it's not a too early peak. I'm sure there was a lot of springboarding from the taken kids and Putin summit.

I'd trust the Marquette poll over the other polls for Wisconsin Governor, but it's going to be an interesting race. I'm sure a lot of Trump supporters still remember that Scott Walker opposed Donald Trump as did the Conservative media in Wisconsin. Will Trump supporters in Wisconsin forgive Walker and the Conservative media or punish them for it?

Republican Farm Senators have the greatest dry wit, just like my in-laws. Johnson, Sasse, especially Kennedy, Corker, even Thune, now Toomey.

Portman is a limp noodle, Flake is gone; Heller is crafty; Paul is a multi-tiered embarrassment; McConnell ruined our Nation — I put ALL of this on him —

Grassley and Ernst are a waste of Oxygen. They didn’t dare come with #45. Iowa’s governor Kim Reynolds — was extremely uncomfortable in Dubuque — she will lose — ALL Farmers now know just how much #45 doesn’t know — such as anything on every meaningful issue —

all 4 Iowa CDs have moved massively to DEMs — Blum and Young are sprinting away from #45— but again, it’s the main event in the state legislature — please educate our people on this — it’s the 142 remaps — far more important than any 4-year President

That's someone that you should avoid any political conversations with it.

I used to debate creationists for the longest time and man, was that a frustrating dynamic. They were completely disconnected from what were the facts and made every argument about ideology, rather than what the facts of the matter were. Of course, they saw the truth reversed, and believed it was I that was being ideological - a classic mode of psychological projection.

Over time I learned that what I said went in one ear and out the other, so I refused to engage them when a new creationist would revisit the same ground I'd covered with countless people before, and instead I would provide them with source material where they could educate themselves.

While this method only had an effect on a few people, those few people that actually did read the material I provided them with became more open to further education, as well an understanding there's such a thing as objective truth.

I'd suggest a similar approach. Be polite, stress how much you value the friendship, but don't directly engage him anymore. Just point him in a direction where if he wants to learn why you think the way you do, sources will be available to him.

Walker has the red headed Butina thing that will only get worse. Start watching for MAGA-hat fatigue. When I see one, I never make eye contact. They’re looking more and more like lost souls. Only think of how a Democratic McConnell would think. That’s my job.

Wisconsin folks will walk away from GOPs down-ballot. I can only Hope and Pray that #45 is out on the stump EVERY DAY.

Walker starts with a far worse ‘hate factor’ than DEMs do. As we saw in Alabama, this will be the election of the African American female voter, indeed all women of color.

Yeah - he's a hard-core Libertarian, so we always had some disconnect. I just considered him a crusty, cantankerous, older gentleman. A somewhat inflexible hard-ass "get off my grass" type. But now, this Trump attitude is a whole new level.

And actually, he initiates discussion with me as much as I do with him. In fact, he might do it a bit more. And we never get to a feverish dialogue. But like you said, engagement really isn't going anywhere these days. We can't debate facts since we don't agree on facts, so today it ended-up becoming a debate on values, which turned-out to be kind of a sad turned-down affair. Whereas we previously could fiercely debate policy, and still feel some kinship in some common values, today's discussion that devolved into values left both of us not feeling very good about each other, I think. At least it felt that way. But you know, sometimes you've just got to call-out when something is wrong, and I generally don't shy away from these situations when they arise.

Anyway, is it November yet? I need off this Merry-go-Round! Or is the offramp in 2020? We shall see ...
