Poll: Fox News most trusted network

Most Trusted != Most Trustworthy. Mind-numbingly silly assumption on your part NP.

Nobody is questioning the fact that Fox is successful or that their views consider them trustworthy. However, those are opinions. When one looks at the facts, namely, is what views see are factual, we get a different story. The fact that Fox viewers are less informed than people who watch nothing, is conclusive.

Its sure not " conclusive " on this Debate forum.

The people that think they're more informed than Fox News viewers on this site actually think we're in the middle of some grand economic recovery.

They think ObamaCare is a good law and think that a Nation can spend and borrow and debase their way into prosperity.

And think Hillary hiding Emails is some Conservative conspiracy.

Obviously these people are not informed.

While I like to agree, I am not sure if either is reflective of the average American voter.
The poll, conducted Feb. 26-March 2, polled 1,286 registered voters

There's usually amusement to be had when reality strays from lefties' preconceptions. Certainly true here.

Fox News is also the least trusted.

Poll: Fox Is Most and Least Trusted News Network | TVNewser

The pollsters at Quinnipiac University asked Americans about TV news, and as you’d expect, Americans gave confusing answers. According to the poll, America’s most trusted news network is Fox News–20% trust Fox “a great deal,” and 35% trust Fox “somewhat.” 26% of respondents said they didn’t trust Fox at all, which puts Fox on top of both the most-trusted and least-trusted lists.

;)

So Fox News takes the cake. Fans of the channel, therefore, can now hold this poll over the heads of the other major networks, whose enthusiasts routinely accuse conservatives of watching the most 'untrustworthy' network in America. But is it?

Let's take a closer look:

Q-poll: Fox News Edges Other Networks in Trustworthiness - Daniel Doherty

Most likely it is the same 29% of Americans who still think that GWB was a good President.

Are you saying something about Independents. :lamo

Strikingly, more self-described Independents -- 25 percent -- say they trust Fox News "the most" than any other network. At the same time, Independents are least likely to turn to ABC, NBC or MSNBC as their most trusted news channels. Is this not telling? ....snip~

Why would we expect Americans to give confusing answers. Were they only polling Liberals and progressives.

From the link in the OP to the PDF from Quinnepac.....What was so confusing about the Question again? :lamo

FOX NEWS HAS MOST TRUSTED COVERAGE, OR NOT, QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY NATIONAL POLL FINDS; TINA FEY, DENNIS MILLER TOP CHOICES TO REPLACE STEWART.....

When asked, “Do you trust the journalistic coverage provided by FOX News,” 20 percent of U.S. voters say “a great deal” and 35 percent say “somewhat.” Scores for other networks are:  NBC News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 46 percent “somewhat;”  ABC News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 50 percent “somewhat;”  CBS News – 14 percent “a great deal” and 50 percent “somewhat;”  MSNBC – 11 percent “a great deal” and 41 percent “somewhat;”  CNN – 18 percent “a great deal” and 43 percent “somewhat.” The big winner is local television news, trusted by 19 percent of voters “a great deal” and by 52 percent “somewhat.” “FOX News may be the most trusted in the network and cable news race, but they all take a back seat to your local news,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll......snip~

With FauxNews record on misleading information....anyone who would trust them is a fool. Which explains why the 29% is consistent with the number of people who still think GWB was a good President.

So, you think that's what the Independents are about huh? Since that poll is from Quinnepac eh?

Google the average age of Fox viewers and get the latest info from many sources.

Average age is less important than the demographic distribution. The viewership of cable news networks is much more alike than different.

The poll doesn't say anything about "Independents". So I'm not sure where you are getting that.

Check the link I put up with it.....it clearly says 25% independents from the QPac - Poll.

Since Fox News is the only right wing cable station, I see why it is number one.

Some may see Fox News as the only cable news station that is not left wing but, that too, is a distinction without much difference. ;)

It is no surprise that Fox is listed among the other stations as "most trusted." Statistically, it's really no different than if people were asked, "among the following candidates, who is the most trusted?"

Choices:
Al Gore
Hillary Clinton
John Kerry
Barack Obama
Mike Huckabee

All the conservatives would select Mike Huckabee and everyone else will split among the others. We would then (falsely) conclude that Mike Huckabee is the most trusted candidate.

In this poll, Fox had 29 percent of the respondents state that Fox was the most trusted. That means that 71% either had no opinion or didn't believe Fox was the most trusted.

The station, as a whole, slants pretty heavily right. You can't seriously deny that.

Unsurprising in our polarized culture.

You don't understand, 29% thought it was the most trusted, however that leaves 71% who doesn't trust them the most or have no opinion on Fox.
