It sounds like nitrogen emissions over the past 30 yeas have been relatively flat, so why exactly would it be posing a new threat now?

I'm not big on chemistry but nitrogen dioxide -> nitric acid sounds reasonable enough.

AGW is no longer a credible threat, gotta create a new "cause" to fight.
