A buddy from work named Bernie, who is only in his 30s, has stage 4 cancer, and his prognosis is very serious. He is undergoing surgery in a couple days, followed by radiation and chemo if he survives the surgery. He is determined to live for the sake of his wife and little girl.

He's a good guy. He went through some rough times when he was younger, but the love of a good woman set him straight and now he literally lives for his family.

His wife is a sweet lady. His little girl has light blond hair and a beautiful smile, and she is a little shy but friendly... and she obviously loves her daddy.

If you will, please pray she does not lose him. I have only met her once, but I think my heart will break if that little girl loses her father.

Even though I'm not religious, I'll still put in a prayer for him.

Hope he makes it through the surgery A-okay.

Prayers on the way, Goshin. Too many people in my family have suffered this terrible disease. Can't wait until they find a way to kill it. :shoot

Stage 4 means the cancer has metastasized to other organs. The prognosis is something like 60% make it 5 years. The big factor in his court is his youthful age.
But it is a damn tough battle ahead for him. He must stay strong and fight just for his daughter's sake.
I have a coworker whose 38 year old husband has stage 4 now and he has just begun the fight.

I know it has been said before but it is such a shame of what we could have done with all the money we have dumped into the middle east this past decade and placed it into medical research.
