I am a sad panda. He suffered from Alzheimer's *****eous disease*, and he was 83.

Sad. I enjoyed his acting so much. He was a funny man.

This is my favorite story about him.
Falk's right eye was surgically removed when he was three because of a retinoblastoma; he wore a glass eye for most of his life.[6] Despite this, Falk participated in team sports, mainly baseball and basketball, as a boy. In a 1997 interview in Cigar Aficionado magazine with Arthur Marx, Falk said, "I remember once in high school the umpire called me out at third base when I was sure I was safe. I got so mad I took out my glass eye, handed it to him and said, 'Try this.' I got such a laugh you wouldn't believe." [4]

RIP Peter.

Love that movie forever.

Great actor - his COLUMBO was one of the best TV shows ever. I loved him as the grandfather in PRINCESS BRIDE.

Not only was Columbo awesome (I sometimes pattern my questioning of clients after him), but his character in the original version of The In-Laws (with Alan Arkin) was fantastic.

Yes, he was very good in that. Frank Capra once said he was the only joy that he derived from his last film POCKETFUL OF MIRACLES.

OMG my childhood favorite detective, actually one of my favorite actors. He will be a very tough act to follow and no one will be able to fill this very talented actor shoes for a very very long time. RIP Peter you will be missed.

You pretty much just summarized my reaction.

Don't tell anyone but I really enjoyed that movie.

You know I can't believe that everything I grew up with is starting to disappear, it's like WOW I am getting old fast because very thing I really enjoyed is now gone and only exist in the past.

I see that so very well. There are only two Beatles left now. We must all exit stage left but it is still a wake up call when you see entertainers you grew up with exiting. Amazingly the Rolling Stones remain strong.

I remember the days when I would come home from school, a ball game whatever it may have been and I would here the T.V. Shows with familiar voices, laughs, music, plots etc., with these sounds you kind of knew you were home free and it was time to relax. Today it all gone, hell can't even get it during the late afternoon, the way T.V. is today it is just to busy with all the programming that we have today. Now don't get me wrong it's a great thing but, I do miss the simpler times.

I used to buy clothing in Falk's of Ossining, NY, Peter's parents' store. RIP

I didn't know if anyone else would remember that movie! He was so funny in that. "Serpentine, Shelly! Serpentine!"

Wonderfully, underplayed. :)

Sorry to see you go, Peter. You will be deeply missed. :(

My favorite line is when he shoots the bananas off the banana truck: "Sometimes I'm so smart I even amaze myself."

He's not gone. He'll be half way out the door, then he'll remember something and then he'll come back.

There were so many great lines. :)
