I wonder how much resistance there will be to this.

“I will seek the president’s approval to make the vaccines mandatory no later than mid-September, or immediately upon” final approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “whichever comes first,” Austin wrote in the memo to troops.

Some sound and fury, signifying nothing. The military can jab you with pretty much whatever it wants; even COCOM commanders have the authority to require vaccines.

And the military are about to require the COVID vaccine. How is that sound and fury signifying nothing? Are you saying the vaccine does no good and no harm, so who cares, or what? Obviously POTUS can overrule that decision, so why is getting POTUS approval irrelevant?

Once it's FDA appro, terms like "resistance" when applied to the military will automatically result in disciplinary action, guaranteed.

As it ***ing should be.

OK, but I don't see how your post addresses that. Just because the military CAN require vaccines doesn't equate to that decision being met with no resistance from the military, their families, the public, or others that might matter, such as opposition by members of Congress.

Edit to add - I guess your point is the opposition doesn't much matter, because it's get vaccinated or get out, it's not going to be optional for the military. OK, I guess. I do expect to see lots of opposition from the predictable sources.

No no no no no...he's saying that some in the military will squawk but that Uncle Sam is about to lay down the law.
And I will add that similar squawks will issue from police and fire, with the same response.
FDA appro is going to drastically alter the landscape, and not in favor of the anti-vaxxers.

Back during the Civil War, ;), were lined up and there were medics on both sides with pneumatic nailers. No one said a word. This vaccine is so much more controversial….

I see - I guess I was reading the statement wrong.

Whoa, did you just mock Trump's quip about airports in the 18th century? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

These people are use to doing as they are ordered to do.
A few may object but the vast majority will do what is being asked of them.
I wish the same could be said of the covidiots.

That is called 'Operation Readiness' , nothing new for the Military. One more vaccination is probably a preferable option than being in an operational capacity and have a COVID-19 variant sweep through the ranks.

About time.

We'll only know for sure when we see recruitment numbers in the coming months.
