If you're not going to do a real poll, I'm not even going to bother with the thread.
Maybe DP needs a post minimum to start polls.Give the guy some slack...he might not know how to make one...or didnt realize it...
Maybe everyone should be concerned in general about the rising cost of copper and other mined ores and minerals that we rely on for many things in life - and then figure out how to bring it down.
If they focused on the source of the issue they'd actually get somewhere. . . simply tyring to get rid of the penny won't make copper cheaper
Can some mod please put in on that second Yes No This was my mistake sorry

Or we could go the way the military did in Iraq. When the transport of coins into theater for post exchanges became to expensive, they switched to "pogs". Little cardboard circles that stated their worth with a picture of something military on it. We could go that way with the pogs looking the same as the original coin.

No - foremost: coins are noisy.
Just like dogtags are noisy.
So they sleeve dogtags and used paper for coins.
Yeah sure. I would almost say get rid of cash altogether.
Should USA should kick the pennies out and save some $$$ ?
To save you wasting us wasting arguments watch this:

No, we shouldn't get rid of pennies.
Rather, we should make them out of a cheaper material than copper.
they havent been made of copper since ending the gold standard. since copper was a precious metal theren was no need for pure copper so the mints have used zinc with a copper plating, though now even zinc is too expensive.
maybe we should do like we did in ww2,make pennies out of steel like we did then when copper was needed for the war effort.
