Pelosi Paying $18K a Month for New San Francisco Office - Roll Call

Who pays for this? Is it California, a State that is about to go bankrupt? Or is it the US tax payer, citizens that are about to go bankrupt.

It should be paid by those who are morally bankrupt, like Pelosi.

It would be best if there were such a thing as a listing, of what each Politician pays for their respective office and who actually foots the bill?

Then we could all have a go at pointing out the high spenders?

These kinds of things are usually paid for by donations and fund-raising, not taxpayers.

Don't worry, unless you donated to the DNC I doubt you are paying for her new office.

Edit: Oops, I thought you were talking about a campaign headquarters, not a district office.

Complete non-issue for two reasons:

1) Congressmen get a fixed budget from the federal government with which they pay all rent and salaries. She was going to spend the same total amount regardless of whether her rent was $18k or $8k
2) She's renting the office from the federal government, so that $18k is going right back into the government's pocket.

If anything, she's costing the federal government less money than someone who used all that money on employee salaries.

Oh come on man now I don't have anything to be outraged over what the hell is wrong with you?

Damnit you beat me to it.

As long as that is coming out her pocket then who cares what she spends on rent. Of course 18k can buy a house in my town.
