We already know from evidence released and confirmed by the FBI that around 15% of those who participated in the failed coup have military background. Worse, we are getting information now that some that were charged with protecting the Capital actually helped those who tried to overthrow Congress.

For those reasons it is "logical" and wise of them to vet everyone that is charged with protecting the Inauguration and the government. We do not know yet how many active in the protection of the Capital were influenced by Trump, his enablers, and supporters who encouraged violence.
